I don't think any laptop can run a VM farm effectively.

But the hospital thing he was talking about can definitely work better with hybrids.

I actually see much lighter weight machines in hospitals nowadays. The last 3 projects ive worked on in healthcare has been on using proximity cards to authenticate a user to a terminal and then single log off when they leave. Essentially deploying a moving desktop wherever they are so they dont have to touch anything really. Cool stuff.

I work for the most popular federation company on the market. I'll pm you. We have more customers than every other competitor combined. We are also very standards based which people especially techies love.

Turns out I've met Rock

That's gotta be weird

Meet in person, don't know each other, but have been talking on the same message board for years.

I had a feeling I knew him when I found out who he works for so went back and checked a PM when I bought Sox tickets from him a few years ago, just crazy.

Now I guess we gotta go with Rock's company :P

So Google has already developed Google Now for iOS...the caveat is that it appears that Apple may not approve it.

I guess this is really a double-edged sword for Apple.

If you approve it, it'll be one less advantage for Android vs. iOS, which could result in higher sales of iOS devices. But if you're Apple, doing that basically says, "yeah, we'll allow your great app in our App Store, even though it sort of goes against our guidelines, but it better be really really good or else we won't approve it". If they deny it, people might get displeased at Apple being anti-competitive. Plus, iOS users lose out on a great feature.

They lose something either way.

Really, twice off this board? Fascinating.

Probably more than that. From my role in technology I've run into people that have Soxtalk favorited on their toolbar and I just laugh. Like, here we are , both sox nerds.

If you're watching the games on CBS's site you can log on with your local provider and see OAuth converted into SAML then an authentication in your providers user store then back to SAML and back with an OAuth authorization token. This all happens in about 2 seconds.

Cool s*** for nerds like me.

When I got the 70", I realized I needed a new sound system too...did some research on best bang for your buck, and ended up picking up a Sony receiver on sale, two Klipsch floorstanding speakers that were on sale (apparently because they were in a cherry finish, the other finishes were not on sale), and an Energy sub. Couldn't be happier with the setup. I wanted something that wasn't overly complicated, but that packed a little more punch than an all-in-one box system or a soundbar. Very solid for both movies and music.

Can anyone help with the configuration of a wireless repeater? I've been having nothing but problems with this thing since I tried installing it a couple of weeks ago.

It's the TP-Link WA701ND if that helps.

What's wrong with it? Do you have the primary router enabled to allow extending of the network and then have the secondary in bridge mode (maybe called repeater mode) depending on the brand. Some don't distinguish the difference in bridge/repeat and some do.

I am a complete noob when it comes to this stuff. I have no idea how to even do the 1st thing you mentioned (bolded).

I tried to add you to gchat but it doesn't seem to care, I'm on my phone at the minute though. Depending on the kind of wireless routers you have you usually go to your gateway IP in a web browser to being up its settings. Somewhere there should be an option that allows the network to be extended/bridged, that's usually the first step in accomplishing this. I'd have to look up your particular router types to help beyond basics.

Also, some don't like working with each other, it's often best to have the same brands to repeat/extend a network.

Did a quick search on that brand, and if your primary router is the same one it does need to be configured into repeater mode.

I'm using a Netgear WNR100v2 router.

So you are trying go use your new wireless router to extend your existing wireless network that you have running off of the WNR100? It's possible they won't play well together, but you can try it. I've not used either of these, but somewhere in the settings -- on both -- will be a way to extend the network, unless the WNR100 doesn't support it. Hard to find much info on the WNR100, everything tries to point me to a WNR1000, which seems to be newer?
