Balta1701
QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 03:52 PM) Yeah, I know I would end up either staying around or abandoning it. Although I don't really collect too much important data or anything...I would think the phone would at least be capable of storing your contacts list. Clearly you'd have to have some storage on the phone otherwise it wouldn't be worth getting. What's an iPhone good for if you can't download an app? Maybe all the apps would be ondemand? I've just got to wonder how effective that would be. I mean, I could probably live with a small amount of memory, compared to the current 16/32 versions, but having the phone turn useless every time I'm out of wifi area wouldn't seem very practical. I guess thats the price you pay with a "lite" version. You could have all the apps be hosted, and the music could be streaming, but what about pictures and emails. They would also be hosted? This I gotta see.

I wonder how they would handle that. if the phone itself has like 2-4 gb of storage, you can make it work without an unlimited plan...you just swap out the material when you've got a wifi connection. Anything less than that though, and it really becomes impractical.

BigSqwert
Thoroughly disappointed in HTC's announcements at MWC. No dual core phones. No EVO successor. Just slightly tweaked phones from 2010. Meh. I think there's one more major mobile event in March. Maybe they'll unveil something then. Otherwise, LG, Motorola, and Samsung just blew them out of the water. smalls2598
Which wireless router do you guys recommend? Preferably under $100. I have a PS3, but don't play too much online, and while i don't steam Netflix yet, I plan on getting it soon. Aside from that, i'll have my laptops/printer/phones connected to it. Suggestions? iamshack
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 17, 2011 -> 04:24 PM) Amazon.com. I use a linksys wireless N router. It cost me like 45 bucks. I bought this one for my parents, as they have an old, big house with walls made of plaster and other materials that seem to frustrate cell and other wireless signals. The linksys wireless N router is faster and stronger than most.
lostfan
I need a new wireless N router, I have a Belkin I got back when the N standard first came out. It doesn't like having multiple wireless connections when bandwidth is being used on it. So if I'm downloading torrents it kicks me off Xbox Live, if I'm downloading an expansion for a game on the Xbox it kicks my laptop off the network, etc. It's f***ing annoying. I had this same problem with my Linksys Wireless N purchased around the same time... I downloaded the latest firmware from the site and installed it and that fixed my s*** right up. Make sure you know how to re-configure your wireless network name and security (normally, using Internet Explorer, you can just visit your router's IP address and login with Username: Admin, Password: Admin) if that doesn't work I'm sure you can find documents on the site as well. So yeah, visit below, input product name, and download/install latest firmware. That should fix your issue. http://www.belkin.com/ Ever since I did that, I've had no issues with being booted and am still using the same router. I've had 3 laptops, 3 cell phones, a printer, and my PS3 all hooked to the Internet at once with no issue. Yeah, actually I always just used the built-in firmware update thing in the menu and it never gave me anything useful. That version is from like 2002 or something. I never thought to check the actual Belkin site. There's 5 firmware upgrades available there. I'm about to do this now and see where it takes me. Before that I used to think USB printers were the coolest thing but even that still made you have to tether your printer close to your PC. HuskyCaucasian
Quick Tech Support: I have a Dell laptop that occasionally, but not always, displays random letters or conducts a certain key combination when I hit either shift key. I've done a full windows reinstall and pulled the battery for 5 minutes (something a friend recommended), and neither works. Could this be on the BIOS level? Y2HH
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 18, 2011 -> 09:48 AM) Quick Tech Support: I have a Dell laptop that occasionally, but not always, displays random letters or conducts a certain key combination when I hit either shift key. I've done a full windows reinstall and pulled the battery for 5 minutes (something a friend recommended), and neither works. Could this be on the BIOS level? It doesn't sound like a software or firmware problem, this sounds like a faulty keyboard problem, possibly a short in the keyboard itself. Having the laptops keyboard replaced would probably fix this.
