BigSqwert
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 08:59 AM) Buster Olney reports that the Twins will trade for Cliff Lee within the next week or two.......... If that does happen we can pretty much pack in our bags for the season.
LittleHurt05
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 08:59 AM) Buster Olney reports that the Twins will trade for Cliff Lee within the next week or two.......... Where was this? I haven't seen that on any of his blogs or twitter
flavum
I think Olney is just saying that Lee could be traded in the next couple weeks, and the Twins are the front-runners. It's not for sure. So would you trade Floyd and Hudson for Lee and prospect?
ThunderBolt
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 11:15 AM) So would you trade Floyd and Hudson for Lee and prospect? No, the reason that the Twins would make the Lee move would be because they don't already have guys like Floyd and Hudson in their rotation. You don't make a move that hurts your team long-term, just to stop a competitor in the short.
LittleHurt05
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 10:15 AM) So would you trade Floyd and Hudson for Lee and prospect? Not a chance. How many of Floyd's losses will Lee definitely turn into wins? I don't think the difference is big enough, and Lee will be gone after this year. Floyd is signed at a good price for a few more seasons. Also, if someone in the rotation goes down, who will step up to take the spot with Hudson gone? chw42
So the Yankees aren't interested anymore? I just love it when the Yankees own the Twins in every facet of the game, including stealing players.
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 10:45 AM) So the Yankees aren't interested anymore? witesoxfan
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 12:27 PM) With the emergence of Hughes and Javy pitching much better of late, do they even need Lee? No, which is why them having interest at all was ridiculous in the first place. Their starting rotation is as legit as it gets. Acquiring a true rent-a-player has never been the Twins MO, but considering they've never had a team this talented before, it makes sense that they would in a push to win it all. LittleHurt05
Interesting stat from Buster Olney, think its a coincidence? Miguel Cabrera went through alcohol treatment in the offseason, and we'll never know if there's a direct correlation between that fact and one dramatic change in a particular statistic. Look at Cabrera's OPS in day games in the past three seasons: 2008: .708 (.982 at night) 2009: .851 (.995 at night) 2010: 1.101 (.991 at night)

Kalapse
Wow, broken bat liner back up the middle snagged by Axford out of the air and doubles up the runner at 2B. You don't see bad luck like that for the Twins very often.
iamshack
Now Prince almost gets impaled. One of these days, someone is literally going to get a bat stuck in their body. They need to fix this quickly. But they won't till it happens. 2 outs.
