Very strange inning, as Shoppach didn't tag up then on a diving catch by Kubel, and then in the bottom of the inning, Soriano threw 5 straight pitches to Hudson that were in the K zone, and 2 of them were called balls.

Yeah, I dunno what the hell Shoppach was doing as Kubel was rolling around on the ground with the ball.

And Tschida had a very tight vertical zone, and a bit of a wide horizontal zone. I agree though, Soriano struck out Hudson twice before getting him to pop up.

I had the game on TV, the two pitches called balls in that at bat looked to be literally down the middle and actually a bit below the belt in height. I was amazed they were both calls balls.

Wow, Jackie Tavener goes 5-5 with three triples in a game in 1925 and yet doesn't score a run.

His team's offense must have been very similar to ours...

Did he have Omar Vizquel in his lineup too??? That was his rookie season, right?

Twins lead 2-1 in the 7th. Delmon Young seems to get more clutch hits than anyone for the Twins this season.

He finally seems to be taking his career seriously this season...

Nice to see Seattle just completely roll over in this series against the Tigers.

Roll over? They suck. The Mariners front-office forgot (or flat-out ignored) that actually scoring runs is a big part of this game we call baseball.

At least with us you could envision scenarios (obviously hasn't worked out) that we could be at least an average offense. You knew from jump the Mariners were going to have a tougher time scoring than 40-year Old Virgin.

They got too carried away with pitching and defense.
