justBLAZE
QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 12:32 PM) Verlander getting shelled, giving up 5 runs in the 1st. Detroit comes back to win the game 9-8.

Jordan4life_2007
I went cheap in fantasy with my closers. And I'm paying dearly for it. Mike Gonzalez, Frank Francisco and Chris Perez all hate J4L.

ThunderBolt
I think a lot of us (myself included) underestimated the Tigers offense. Mostly, because i didn't expect Austin Jackson to hit this well out of the gate. I think they'll fall off when Willis and Bonderman realize they can't pitch, but i can't write them off. Man if Podsednik managed a .400+ OBP he'd be picked off about 20 times with another 30+ CS to go along with it.

Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 02:41 PM) 5 SBs and no CS so far. But hey we've got Pierre! April 12, my friend. And as I'm sure you know, I've been a Pods backer for sometime. But his baserunning last year was deplorable. Combine that with the CS and defense and whatever good he did with the bat was minimized. BigSqwert
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 02:51 PM) April 12, my friend. And as I'm sure you know, I've been a Pods backer for sometime. But his baserunning last year was deplorable. Combine that with the CS and defense, whatever good he did with the bat was minimized. I'm not arguing that. I feel the only reason he was not signed was because of the CS issues. The guy would have been a nice, cheap DH.

Balta1701
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 04:09 PM) But no one did. We could have retained him for very little. Again...not at the time we made the deal for Pierre. Only in hindsight, after he signed with the Royals, was it clear that he'd been forced to drop his price. It's also possible we could have wound up bidding for him against the Royals for some time.

WilliamTell
Twins fans boo the first 2 pitches, thinking they're strikes. That is pathetic. Marco Scutaro with the first hit of Target Field's history.
