Nope, we figured everything out a little while ago. Where the hell were you?

:D

Apparently on match.com, stirring up more trouble for myself.

Did meet a really cool chick this week though. Have seen here 3 times and counting already...

Any of you dudes ever use match.com to pick up the ladies?

This chick that likes me told me about it. She said she wants to find another me out there.. I was always currious but either forgot to check it out, or just didn't bother. Maybe this comming weekday, when I'm not too hungover, I'll check it out.

I always wondered if any of those website worked. Yahoo! personals looks decent but I never actually tried it. Hmm...is eHarmony.com legit or bull s***?

My brother met his current fiance on eharmony.

From what I understand, eharmony is more for people looking for serious relationships, while match is still kind of a hookup site.

One lady I work with said she tried eHarmony but there are lengthy process before you can even meet a certain person. I guess it is rather safe but she made it sound like it isn't worth it. No clue about match.com, I'm just not that desperate.... :P

Seriously? I thought that was a hoax. Any insight into their experience?

From what I understand, on eharmony they just ask you all kinds of stuff about your lifestyle, interests, etc., and pair you up with people of similar tastes. I think my bro's fiance is the first woman he met through there, so maybe it was luck, maybe it's just coincidence, I don't know.

But for a lot of people these days it's just finding quality single people that is most of the battle, and I guess this does that for you.

When I moved out here to Vegas, I didn't hardly know anyone, so I played around with match.com. Met a lot of cougars and provided myself with fun for a few months ;). Then I ended up meeting my now ex through there so I quit the site. Recently joined again after the ex and I called it quits and kind of hit it off with the first girl I met from there (just this week).

The main difference is eharmony pairs you themselves, while with match you do the searching and then the introduction on your own.

As for whether it can work, the two dudes I used to live with here are both close to getting engaged to women they found on match.

Disclaimer: Being in Vegas, the dating atmosphere is definitely a bit different here. Women here are fed up with tourist dudes and more willing to try more non-traditional methods of finding good local men (because there probably are not as many). In Chicago, my guess is match and sites like that are still a bit more frowned-upon by a lot of quality singles (just my guess)...

Shack, I hope you open your place for us to shack up when we are in vegas. And pimp out your honeys.

Definitely.

You should see the photos from the pool the girl I met earlier in the week was sending me today. Damn work...why do I actually have to work?!? And her friend....wow...I don't know who looked better...

E-Harmony might work, but it's a cash succubus.

It costs about $70 a month to answer a bunch of questions and PM a few women.

In order to get a decent few real in-person dates, you could be on that site at minimum 6 or 7 months.

There goes $500 you'll never see again.

You haven't even mentioned how much footing the tab a few nights a week is :)

I actually used E-Harmony for 3 months whilst I was in New York, just to see if anything would come of it.

Basically, it didn't. Most of the girls that matched with me that were actually attractive, were based on in New Jersey somewhere (and since I didn't have a car) well it wasn't worth pursuing.

What? No one has any more relationship problems now?

I wouldn't say that we don't have relationship problems, I just think, personally, I've gotten all the advice I need to on my situation. If something new comes up, I'd probably bring it up.

I hear you Wite....ultimately, you're doing what you think is best personally anyways.

My brother-in-law met his wife on match.com, and I know another couple that met that way too, so i guess it can work.

I know a few success stories as well, including my best friend. Hey, any avenue you can use to meet people is good in my book. Whether you're looking to hook up or meet the girl of your dreams. The more girls you meet the better chance you have. Also, for the guys a little uncomfortable or unsure how to act around women. The more dates you go on the more comfortable you get. I used to tell my friend that all the time. Get out...go for a few drinks or coffee or whatever.(Although IMHO, never dinner) Just date and get used to talking to girls so you learn to be yourself around them. You're not wining and dining these girls....these are quick little meet and greets to see if there's something there.

Yeah, definitely a good idea. I went on a ton of dates when I moved here and eventually, you get a pretty solid idea of what works and what doesn't.

Additionally, while I didn't end up dating some of these girls, a few are pretty cool chicks that have turned into good friends, which then introduce you to their girlfriends, etc., etc.

Did any of you subscribe if you used match.com? It seems as though you can just post on those sites and if you want to email the girl you have to pay. Maybe there's a way around that, like looking at facebook profiles somehow.
