Soxbadger
The way the grass moved it looked like field turf, but it does appear to be grass. Not sure what they did to get the field to act that way.
Heads22
It's natural grass from Oregon. And lots of s***ty offensive reads tonight.
Soxbadger
Damn my prediction was going to be that after this game people would think neither team deserved to be NC.

RockRaines
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 10, 2011 -> 07:56 PM) The way the grass moved it looked like field turf, but it does appear to be grass. Not sure what they did to get the field to act that way. They actually roll it out into the sun to grow and then roll it back in and fill in the gaps in pieces. I've seen alot of Fiesta bowls. Soxbadger
Yeah I remembered after you said something (they made a big deal when it held the NFL Super Bowl) I more meant I have no idea how they got natural grass to act like field turf and screw up a knee like that. It's not like the defensive stops have been great plays. Until just now, both offenses have looked bad.

Oh come on, you know if Oregon was Miami you would be cursing out Jacory right now, because thats about what Thomas has looked like. Lamichael James may be the best player on the field, feed him the ball.
zenryan
We have two finesse offenses who had 40 days off. Did you expect both teams to play flawless? Oregon has moved the ball well twice and has made plays against Newton. Sure there have been some mistakes but I've seen a lot more less entertaining starts to bowl games. Soxbadger
If by better you mean it reminds me of a Madden game where the other player uses every gimmick to try and win. Id guess the strategy for going for 2 is that you dont believe your defense can stop them, so 14-11 is a fg versus 14-10 needing a td.

They've gone for two on opening touchdowns. They just do it just because they can.
southsider2k5
That was a gift wrapped TD Auburn just gave away. They are going to regret that.

fathom
This game is back to being pretty mediocre. I still don't understand why more teams don't do a qb sneak on 4th and inches at the goal line.
Soxbadger
10 yards and in is some what the kryponite of spread option offense. The defense can get close to the line of scrimmage and the offense is 3-4 yards behind it.
SoxFan1
Cam Newton got shaken up on that 3rd down run, no doubt.
Soxbadger
Yeah he is hurting, he just went down on the next play instead of getting contact, and you could tell on the zone read he never even considered taking the ball.
fathom
Someone needs to tell Chip that anything up the middle isn't going to work against Auburn's defense.

Does he always dive so much when he runs with the ball? It definitely looks like he is hurting.
zenryan
Oregon not having a big back who can run north and south will be the difference in this game. Too many key short yardage situations have been wasted by the Ducks.
