Supposedly Harbaugh isn't interested in Michigan

I hope that's untrue, Michigan was my favorite football team and was impossible to root for under RichRod. Harbaugh would take them back up to Ohio State's level.

I could have swore people said the same thing about Rodriguez a few years ago.

They did. Michigan fans are hopelessly annoying. I was just mentioning to a bunch of my friends that I wish we could go back to DEC 2007 to see them rejoicing with the hiring of Rodroguez. Now, they are happy he's gone. I'll give them credit for their loyalty but my goodness...

Stanford went up early for an extended period of time in that game. Led at the half and was rolling through most of the 1st half until Oregon hit. And you don't go up as big as Stanford went early by being a chump team

Sounds eerily similar to our game against Oregon. Tennessee was up 13-3 over Oregon with 4:30 left in the 2nd Quarter "until Oregon hit"

I think the problem was that Michigan in 07 was slow and getting beat on the coaching end. Lloyd failed to adapt to the spread style, dual QB offense that was dominating the conference. Richrod brought that high power offense potential in, so fans were excited. But I'm still shocked Michigan decided to forego 100 years or whatever of traditional Big Ten style of play for that. They let him completely gut the team and effectively screw them for a couple of years going forward. I think they have talent, but now you're talking about starting over again for the 2nd time in 4 years.

But who knows, the Big Ten isn't exactly the greatest of conferences these days. When Illinois is the only team with a dominate victory, that's saying something.

That 07 Michigan team was 6-2 in the Big 10 and beat Florida in the bowl game. Florida won the NC in 2006 and 2008.

Carr's problem was that he could not beat OSU. Michigan fans were unhappy with the fact they failed to finish first in the Big 10 in his last 3 seasons

Im not sure how Carr failed to adapt to anything as only 1 team was arguably more successful than Michigan and it was OSU.

Well the Big 10 had 2 teams who arguably would have had a shot to win the NC, Wisconsin and OSU. Just because Wisconsin lost to TCU a team that was undefeated and was next in line for the National Championship game doesnt mean less than Illinois winning a completely meaningless game.

You can go back to 2007 and see all of my posts on the subject, I said that Rodriguez would be an absolute failure and would never come close to the success of Carr.

I think a lot of Michigan fans actually didn't like the Rich Rodriguez hiring. I don't think anyone thought it would be this bad under him, but I know a good amount of people didn't care for Rodriguez. As far as Michigan fans go, I only like them because they were always on tv moreso than the Illini and Notre Dame seemed too Cubby/Yankee like for me to follow them when I was young.

It depends on how they approach it. I really doubt Harbaugh goes there, but Michigan could really overpay if they wanted. (I hope he doesnt go there because I think hes one of the few coaches who instantly would change perception there.)

My guess is that they try and throw money at a coach who was successful and then went to the NFL and didnt fare as well. They potentially have a lot of money, should be interesting to see what they can try and pull together.

I didn't hate the hiring but was skeptical about changing the entire offensive philosophy and as good as the offense became under him, the defense was worse than Carr's last year.

I was fine with whatever direction Michigan went in.

What college coaches have gone to the NFL recently and not already come back? Basically, Pete Carroll is still there, but his team is a playoff team (awesome!). Petrino's already back, Saban's already back.

I dunno if you made me guess a name Id say some one like Cam Cameron. He worked for Michigan for 10 years early in his career and was a head coach at Indiana.

They either have to get some one like that or try and get an up and coming coach, just not sure who that would be.

My guess is that when Michigan talks to Harbaugh he is going to highly recommend Cameron or Michigan going with another "Michigan Man".

I could be completely wrong but I think the Rodriquez hire was there "Kelly" and now they are going to go much more conservative.

I wonder if Michigan will try to go after Les Miles again... The people at LSU really don't like the guy, but he miraculously keeps winning so they can't fire him. Might be a way for both parties to move on.

Also, while I posted that the Big 10 was short on playmakers at the skill positions this year what a year for the conference on the dline. Liuget, Heyward, Clayborn, Kerrigan, Watt, etc. Just a ton of top level d lineman in the conference..
