Bmr31
I wasnt exactly the biggest Frank Thomas supporter in the past 2 or 3 seasons, but i have to give Frank credit. He came to play this season, and the numbers are showing it. to Frank.
mike12345
how can you consider yourself a sox fan and not be a thomas fan..the guy has being awesome his whole career and it is about time he gets some recognition.
greg775
Good post, I give Frank props also. 25 hrs, nice b.a. He's doing very well. Keep it up, Frank.

Because in the past he has been known as a selfish, lazy, horrrible teammate. He seems to have put that behind him. Being a REAL sox fan, i always root for Frank, but didnt like that fact that he didnt seem to care about anything but himself. Things seem different now. witesoxfan
how can you consider yourself a sox fan and not be a thomas fan..the guy has being awesome his whole career and it is about time he gets some recognition. I know of a few Cubs fans who actually do not like SamME, and one actually thinks they should have traded him to the Yanks or Red Sox when they could have and gotten some killer prospects. From a Sox fan point of view, I do not agree....I'm glad they kept Sosa. But if I were a Cubs fan, I would definately be PO'ed that they had not traded him. They could have gotten so many big names right now. Hell, they could have Soriano, Nick Johnson, and Juan Rivera on their team right now, and then that would allow them to trade one of Johnson and Choi, if that's how it would have happened, and gotten themselves a stud 3Bman(maybe they do get Hillenbrand, or Lowell, or some other big name....a ton of things could have happened). I know it is hindsight and what I explained probably would not have happened that way. But they could have gotten a whole lot for Sosa back then and would have freed up $15-$20 mill. That's how you can be a fan of a team and not like a player that has done a ton statistically for your franchise. Bonds is selfish, Sosa is selfish, and Thomas can also qualify for that category. You don't think some of the things he says are selfish? It is very easy to think that. I understand exactly what Bmr is saying.

I am a life long Sox fan and I'm not a fan of Thomas since the contract fiasco. I appreciate and respect what he's done for the Sox, but I don't root for him to be superman like a lot of Sox fans. I'd rather root for Mags or Konerko than the Big Hurt.

He's a proven superstar and even if he wasn't doin as well as he is now I'd be privelaged because I still got to see one of the great offensive forces of all time in his prime... Biggest crock of bulls*** and I've heard this alot over the past couple of years. Real Sox fans don't criticize any Sox player when the player deserves or warrants criticism? Bulls***. Just because Thomas is a great Sox player doesn't mean he is above criticism. If I'm paying for a ticket and ANY Sox player is crying and whining and his numbers aren't where they should be, I don't care who he is, I'm critical. Not a damn thing wrong with criticizing a player when they deserve it. I think it's a different story though, when the best offensive player in White Sox history gets booed at home. Especially when he was coming back from a torn tricep injury the year before.
greg775
Nicely said by all of you, bmr, etc. I've blasted Thomas in the past when he was a dick, also. We have that right as Sox fans. Most of us are fair. If the player is trying, shutting the f*** up to the media, contributing, etc., we like them. I mean most of us feel sorry for Paulie more than hate the guy. Ditto Ritchie. He seemed like a good guy. But Royce sucked and whined. And guys like Harris and D'Angelo simply aren't good enough and we can see that. It's nice to see Frank turn it all around. SnB
I've got to admit too that in the past few years I've been all over frank. But c'mon, he deserved it. We all knew that he could play like this and whne he didn't and whined about other things, it was hard not to bash him. I'm as happy as anybody to see him back to his old self again. He is the cornerstone of this team.

He's not kidding. LOL. Frank has, at times, deserved to be treated less than god-like. He's opened his mouth and inserted his foot on numerous occasions over the years. But, I'll take a guy like Frank, that says what's on his mind, over the circus atmosphere that has surrounded Sosa all these years on the north side. Whenever I criticize someone like Buehrle when lost like eight straight, everyone, yourself included killa, bashed me for it. So why was Mark above the criticism? The only player on this team I stick to diehard is Frank. Killa has no one above criticism (or so he says, he was ripping me for ripping Mark) but for me only Frank is above the rest...
