SoxFan1
The Bears played great as a whole. Best they've looked this year as a team. It's nice to be sitting at 7-3. Refreshing to see some effective runs and an efficient Cutler. Those 3rd down conversion are huge. And as dominant as the D was, I have no faith in them against Vick. With LB's dropping back in coverage and Maclin/Jackson running deep routes, Vick will have insane amounts of room to run. Marinelli and Lovie have their work cut out for them. Bears are going to need to put pressure on Vick quickly with the front 4 in order to have any success.

It's the deep pass that has me most concerned.
SoxFan1
QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 12:54 AM) Urlacher, IMO, always plays best against mobile QBs. It's the deep pass that has me most concerned. That's what I'm saying though. If they're drawing Urlacher out on deep routes and we can't get pressure, Vick can run for days or find the receiver who eventually gets open. He can pick you apart either way. iamshack
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 01:00 AM) That's what I'm saying though. If they're drawing Urlacher out on deep routes and we can't get pressure, Vick can run for days or find the receiver who eventually gets open. He can pick you apart either way. I don't have a clue where you even begin with drawing up a defense to defend Vick. We always played well against him in the past, but that was before he was developed as a QB as he is now. I honestly just hope the guy has an off game. The Colts managed to keep him in check a bit, so it can be done. But if he plays like he did against Washington, honestly, we're screwed. The good thing is we won tonight. I think we need to come out of the next 6 games with 3 wins to win the division: Best chances for wins are Detroit and Minnesota, then just go 1-3 against Philly/New England/NYJ/Green Bay. Probably our best chance there is against NYJ.

We play good D and put pressure on Rodgers, we can win that game. But ya, either way, go 3-3 the rest of the way or better and we're probably going to the playoffs. Of course this was the Urlacher of old that is about 2 steps quicker than this one. Thats why we may run into some trouble.
southsider2k5
Jesus Miami was god awful last night. I know the offensive problems with injuries, but the defense wasn't really much better. The Bears managed to run for over 100 yards, which should tell you everything.

BigSqwert
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 08:42 AM) Just win baby. Didn't they do it last year? Yeah but come one. Why do they get Pittsburgh again? That's a very tough out of division opponent. You'd think Oakland was 12-4 last year for getting them on the schedule again this year. southsider2k5
QUOTE (T R U @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 02:31 AM) im gonna go ahead and be pretty ballsy and declare that there is no chance the Bears beat Miami Thursday.. Weve lost to Baltimore, New England, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh.. and shoulda beat Pitt but the refs screwed us over.. that's pretty much 4 of the best 5 teams in the NFL right there with Atlanta being the other.. It doesn't matter if Thigpen is playing QB, he can do plenty enough to win the game with the way our defense has been playing and my expectancy that Nolans blitzing is going to have a field day on Cutler.. MexSoxFan#1
Not to pile on but... QUOTE (T R U @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 04:10 AM) Yes there is a reason Thigpen was the 3rd QB.. Henne was a 2nd round pick who needed to be given the reigns and Pennington wasn't going to be 3rd.. Had Penny not come back, Thigpen would have been 2nd string.. besides, its not like Henne had been lighting it up this year I don't see Thigpens play being too far off from what we've gotten from the QB position anyways.. he looked pretty good in his limited play against Tennessee.. I don't see how you can say Miami and Chicago are the same team.. Chicago has two bad losses to Washington and Seattle, they should have lost to Detroit, and they have eeked through every win they have outside of Carolina and getting Minnesota at home.. If they lose to the Bears Thursday, then I will agree with you they are a decent team at best.. there wont even be any excuses with Thigpen in.. they should beat the Bears, at home, no problem if they are better than a decent team.. ...and da Bears didn't "eek" out last night's win Edited November 19, 2010 by MexSoxFan#

lostfan
Did you really go back to a post from over a month ago just now? Eh the point of that post wasn't "5 seconds" it was that it doesn't matter how long Cutler is holding onto the ball if he's got a guy in his face on almost every play when he hasn't even finished his drop. "5 seconds" was supposed to be whatever that amount of time is.
