I never said that I would pass on Luck. I'm just saying that Clausen needs more time to develop and adjust to NFL defenses.

He's not going to get that on the bench, and Carolina won't get jack for him in a trade until he shows more.

Sorry knightni, wasn't referring to you. There was a conversation on the radio yesterday with Mort in which he said Carolina might not take Luck cause of Clausen. The consensus was that Clausen isn't the type of player you pass up a potential franchise QB for.

I hear that Stafford's injuries might cause Detroit to look at a QB in the draft this year. Maybe 2nd or 3rd round.

I think they'd be smarter to look for a guy who might be available on the trade market, if they want to try to compete next year. Someone like Orton, or hell, Fitzpatrick or Qunn or Claussen, lots of that tier QB could be available.

Newton's going to be a top 5 pick, especially if he plays well vs Oregon. I've been extremely impressed with his accuracy this season, and his mechanics are so much better than someone like Vince Young.

Mechanics may not be the thing that has held vince young back, as much as "desire".

Anyway...Arizona.

If I was the Niners I would love for that to happen. Then they could draft Mallet.

I wonder what team Todd McShay will be able to talk into drafting Jake Locker way too high.

That would be an awesome match.

Newton indoors on turf with Fitzgerald, Breaston, Wells, and Hightower could be explosive.

The Cardinals seem to be the pick to cover tonight, based on the information I read on a weekly basis. I just can't make myself do it, especially considering how much the Cowboys have been scoring as of late. I would take the Cowboys, but I trust what I have read enough to pass on the game.

Plays this week are going to be Oakland +3/Niners +2.5/Bears -1/Buffalo +8/San Diego -7.5/New Orleans +2.5/over 40 in the Phi-Min game/over 44 in the NE-Buf game/over 49 in the NO-Atl game.

Really love Oakland and Chicago.

No faith in Matty Ice? Hard to find a tougher QB at home.

Awfully good there, but the truth is they really haven't played the toughest home schedules since he's been there. The Falcons are overrated. Very good, but still overrated. I like Drew Brees getting points indoors.

. The Falcons are overrated.

You keep saying this and you're just wrong imo. Certainly wouldn't be shocked if the Saints beat them because NO is still one of the better teams in football but so is Atlanta and they aren't overrated.
