Rowand44
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 05:36 PM) I know what you're saying...but this is another on my list of "Things we hear every year" Well yes, but not from me. Like I said earlier, I very rarely am that high on qb's right out of college, Luck is a ridiculous talent who has all the tools, physically and emotionally to be one of the greats imo. dasox24
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 04:43 PM) I read this paragraph and though "Jay Cutler". I'm not just talking about record. I'm mean statistically and everything. Cutler played on some awful teams in the toughest conference in college football, and still managed to put up better passing numbers than Locker could ever do. Plus, Locker played on much better teams, in an easier conference, and with a very good offensive mind as his head coach. Cutler had none of those things at Vandy. Also, Locker regressed this year which is an awful sign. Further, I think a lot of my dislike for Locker is towards the fact that people were saying he should be the #1 pick when they thought he'd declare for the draft last year. That's absurd. If a team wants to take him in the 2nd or 3rd round, it's worth a shot. It always is with these types that have all the "tools." But he's not 1st round worthy, and that's a fact. zenryan
QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 05:37 PM) - Also, what's the deal with Mallett? I keep reading that many NFL teams won't "touch him with a 10 ft pole." He sure looks damn good to me on the field, so I'm assuming there is some off-field stuff that has been kept quiet. Sounds like Mallet might not be the sharpest tool in the shed.
zenryan
QUOTE (T R U @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 02:28 PM) Jesus, if Miami takes a RB at 15 I am going to be pissed.. an undrafted free agent just rushed for 1600 yards, unless you are getting an Adrian Peterson its not worth it at all to take a RB high in the draft.. That would be a mega blunder for Miami. No reason to draft a running back outside of the top 10 anymore. Too many good backs are available in the late rounds and free agency. I think Miami should look at Damien Berry late in the draft or as a possible FA. He only played RB for 1.5 seasons at Miami but I think he can be a pretty good back. He's a tough, physical back with not many miles on his legs. It seems like every mock draft has the Bucs drafting Clayborn. It's pretty obvious the Bucs will be targeting pass rushers and linebackers this draft.

dasox24
The Titans will either trade or cut Vince Young. I guess Fisher won that battle, which he should have. He's a great coach and they would have been dumb firing him to please VY. Edit: Apparently Bud Adams is still undecided on if he'll keep Fisher or not. I think he'd be dumb to get rid of him. http://espn.go.com/blog/afcsouth/post/_/id...nts-from-titans Edited January 6, 2011 by dasox24

Yes, he is probably a great coach, but sometimes both parties just need a change. I'm sure John Foxx is a great coach, but I think it's best that he and the Panthers go their separate ways.' Sometimes things just get stale. Of course, with the labor issue looming, this may not be the year to break things up because they are stale. The NFL, seemingly more than any other sport, has the tendency for things to "get stale" b/t players and coaches. But, I still think it would be a bad move to get rid of him. Let me add that I'm a huge Jeff Fisher fan and would love him coaching the Bears if it was ever possible. GoodAsGould
My only problem with Fisher is he wanted Collins starting over VY before all the drama started, while VY clearly has his flaws the offense was more dynamic with him under center and you have a future with him while Collins is at the end of his days. I think Fisher's stubborness might cost him the job, but maybe Titans should cut ties with Young as well.

VY is clearly a bit of a headcase and/or primadonna, so I am not sure I would want either of them there if I was in charge. The Titans have one of the best rb's in the league, a solid defense, and they still were horrible. Somewhat similar to Minnesota I suppose. I'd be looking to bring in a younger, fresher leader if it was up to me.

zenryan
So now that the new NFL OT rules take place (each team gets a possession unless the first team scores a TD), if you had 4th and goal from inside the 3, do you go for the win and risk the other team moving the ball down field from the 3 or do you kick the FG and allow the other team to field the kick off? I think I go for the win. Edited January 6, 2011 by zenryan
dasox24
Ever since watching Hard Knocks, I thought Mark Sanchez seemed like a pretty cool guy, but he just went up another notch in my book.
