Big East Tournament

With the exception of day 1, this should be an awesome tournament. It's usually the best conference tournament in America, and I see no reason to think it'll be any different in 2010.

Oh easily, I'm not sure there is even a clear favorite to win it. I am liking West Virginia.

I could see Connecticut getting by Marquette and a maybe beating a Villanova team that has been trending downward too.

That is such an odd set up for a conference tourney. It really kills the idea of an upset winner.

That's exactly why I like this tournament besides obviously it's high level of play. Although I enjoy watching conference tournaments, the whole idea of them really isn't fair because you are determining your representative for the NCAA Tournament based on a few days of games rather than a couple of months. This isn't generally as big an issue in power leagues as it is in the smaller leagues since the top 4 or 5 teams are going to get in anyways though. However, I still prefer league tournaments like this one and the Horizon League which gave major preferential treatment to the top teams as a reward for a good season.

I am 100% of the opposite. I don't want to watch tourney's to watch the NC's, Dukes, and Kansas's of the world win. I watch for the upsets. You get a top seed as a reward for a good season. You shouldn't get to break the legs of your opponents as well.

ND has a decent draw. They play either Seton Hall or Providence, then Pittsburgh and West Virginia. All teams that they've either defeated this year - or can defeat - in conference play.

Go Irish!

I'm liking ND's odds now.

They play Pitt tonight - who they've beaten.

They'd play WVU next - who they've beaten.

Then, GTown - who they've beaten.

ND is playing much better, but in no way do I like their chances of beating those three teams in a row under any circumstances. Possible yes, but liking their odds to run the table I don't think so. Odds are about even up to get by Pitt, and stacked against them to survive past Pitt & W. Virginia. If they get that far to make it to the final they still would have to take out Marquette/G'town.

Can't see how you would like thier odds, I would guess they would be at least 20 - 25 to 1 to make the final at this point..
