Same basic mixture. Somewhere around 1/2 the companies that drive those big things up to your building just are bringing filtered tap water. The remainder are bringing some variety of bottled water, likely actually bottled at a spring source, but not tested or necessarily meeting drinking water standards.

If anyone ever wants to panic about bottled water, drive 395 up Owens Valley, CA. Right on the side of Owens dry lake bed, which is for all practical purposes an environmental disaster area, you'll hit the "Crystal Geyser" bottling plant.

Yeah, I don't drink bottled water in the individual bottles but I do drink the water at work from those 5-gallon bottles. There is no real availability of water otherwise, except for tap water in the bathroom, which scares me a bit, frankly.

Maybe I need to buy a large water bottle and a brita filter and just bring it to work with me.

Does this apply to the 5-gallon bottled water services too, or is that tap water that is treated?

BTW, in that movie Tapped they mentioned that the plastic used in those bottles is the worst (i.e., most dangerous).

Ugh...looks like I'll be buying the filter and bringing my own water then...time to go water bottle shopping!

Yeah my pregnant wife's jaw dropped when we learned that while watching the movie. She exclusively drank from those at work.

Thanks Steve.

Poor kid'll never know the pleasures of a nice piece of bacon. Congratulations, though!

I've watched The Life Of David Gale (5 stars) and Quills (4 stars) in the last few days.

I pretty much saw the outcome of the first one coming, but it was still a great movie. Quills sort of creeped me out, but it was filled with the best actors around and kept me into it the whole time. I've heard about the Marquis de Sade before and I don't know how much of that movie is embellished, but he was f***ed up if even half of if was true. I don't even want to look further into the guy.

Tap water is something like $0.0005 per liter. Bottled water is closer to $.50 per liter, and is often the same or worse quality. Based on this chart, a PUR filter is about $.25 per gallon, maybe $.12 per liter.

I really like Brita's fill station product for this reason. Provides the convienence of bottled water without the massive waste, cost and damage.

Yeah, you said it was more expensive right after saying something about buying pop at a gas station, so I was confused.

No problem.

I dunno if it'd be worth it to split these posts off into another thread, but here's a few papers on water resources some might be interested in:

I watched the original Tron last night for the first time.

Premise- Great

Writing/Acting - Bad

VFX - Extremely dated, but i wont hold that against a nearly 30 year old movie.

Overall, I look forward to Tron: Legacy where the graphics will be done "right"

I had a lot of fun with this film. This is a very original story, considering it's from bollywood, who are known for their remakes of movies from other countries.

Foreign film, subtitles, 2 hours and 40 minutes long? Only one i can think of watching it on this site is IamtheHBOMB. What a shame that is, as there are great messages in this film. Don't be scared off by comments on imdb on imdb's message boards, because those that knock it barely seem literate, so it's no shock it went way over their heads. The main idiot rancho (who just so happens to be a genius) has just become one of my favorite movie characters of all time.

I've had this saved on my Netflix queue for months, but it is still unavailable. How were you able to watch it?
