BigSqwert
Rotten Tomatoes: True Grit - 95% Black Swan - 87% I've only seen Black Swan and I thought it was a B+ which seems in line with Rotten Tomatoes.
southsider2k5
Scott Pilgrim was a great movie. I don't know that I have ever seen anything quite like it.
Milkman delivers
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 28, 2010 -> 11:54 AM) Going to the movies tonight or tomorrow: Black Swan or True Grit? To add onto what Sqwert already said, I'd see True Grit because it probably plays better in a theater.
SoxFan1
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 28, 2010 -> 12:38 PM) Scott Pilgrim was a great movie. I don't know that I have ever seen anything quite like it. Netflix is shipping that to me tomorrow. I'm excited to see it.
iamshack
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 28, 2010 -> 09:33 AM) Obviously I saw it in the theaters, but I waited to watch Inception again until receiving the BluRay for Christmas... it might be even better the 2nd time you watch it since you can see the story pulling together while knowing the ending and how things play out. What a fantastic movie. Watching this tonight on blu ray. Have not seen it yet. Very excited.
nitetrain8601
QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 28, 2010 -> 04:17 PM) Watching this tonight on blu ray. Have not seen it yet. Very excited. You will love it. I do suggest not drinking and being distracted when watching the movie. That why you understand it and know exactly how and why certain things can and cannot be done. You'll notice, there is very little to no plotholes in the movie, the way Nolan setup the story. And the soundtrack is amazing.
iamshack
Very good movie. Maybe a little underwhelming only because it had achieved outrageous hype. I find this happens often to me, since I am not one to go to the theaters often, instead choosing to watch on my home theater (I mean, this is why I paid for all this s***, right?). Loved the soundtrack, loved the ending, solid acting. I guess the concept wasn't as moving as I thought it might be though. Very solid though. Next on my list is The Town. SoxFan1
Wow, I really tried to like Scott Pilgrim but I just couldn't. It was like watching ADHD happen. And it just pissed me off. I liked the whole video game thing, but I couldn't handle everything just bouncing around. Just too much for me.

BigSqwert
Here's an interesting fact about the actress Thora Birch: ...the eldest child of Jack Birch and Carol Connors. Her parents, who were her business managers from the start, are former adult film actors and both appeared in the pornographic film Deep Throat. via

nitetrain8601
Scott Pilgrim flat out sucked, period. I don't get the hype. I guess if I was out of it I would like it. I wasn't and the movie was just not fun or engaging at all to me.
