chisoxfan09
Jared Mitchell went down hard after robbing an Angel of a home run and apparently has hurt his ankle and had to be carted off the field. Anyone know anything at all? Get well soon Jared man!! We are gonna need ya in the future!! Edited March 12, 2010 by chisoxfan09

knightni
That thread title is a little overreactive, don't you think? He twisted his ankle, he didn't "Robin Ventura" himself. The guy has quite a few years before he even sniffs the majors.

It stated he had been carted off and that normally means something serious enough that you cannot walk off the field on your own.

I do agree he's a ways away from playing in Chicago, but ankles can be serious, and it really would be a shame if it costs him much time. He can ride this little high he's been on and maybe take off. Who knows how much a significant injury could set him back.
soxrwhite
If the man's game is speed then any leg injury needs to be taken seriuosly

ThunderBolt
I was there, and it was amazing. That play shouldn't have been made, but it was, and it was shocking. Mitchell was down for a long time, and everyone but Viciedo and Pena ran out to check on him. He was down on his stomach writhing in pain, as the entire stadium cheered his tremendous play. Marty34
Posted at 6:00 "They say for now it's a sprained ankle," bench coach and acting White Sox manager Joey Cora said. "They don't think it's a break but they're checking the ligaments." http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/al...383582598_x.htm
quickman
So he is down on the ground for a long time wrenching with pain for a sprained ankle? If so I question his pain tolerance. has to be something more. Edited March 13, 2010 by quickman
ThunderBolt
QUOTE (quickman @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 08:42 PM) So he is down on the ground for a long time wrenching with pain for a sprained ankle? If so I question his pain tolerance. has to be something more. He hit the wall hard. He must have had the wind knocked out of him. He was rolling around for maybe twenty seconds, before the Angels trainer got to him. Regardless, it looked like it hurt. He seemed okay when they carted him off the field. I couldn't get a decent read of just how serious it was.

daggins
So uh, is it a tendon or a ligament? I wonder what the downtime is gonna be like. Is it something where he'll be back in a couple months or is that pretty much it for his season?
JPN366
This could mean Jordan Danks might return to B'ham to start 2010.
