Jared Mitchell went down hard after robbing an Angel of a home run and apparently has hurt his ankle and had to be carted off the field. Anyone know anything at all? Get well soon Jared man!! We are gonna need ya in the future!!

That thread title is a little overreactive, don't you think?

He twisted his ankle, he didn't "Robin Ventura" himself.

The guy has quite a few years before he even sniffs the majors.

My first thought was the DeWayne Wise catch that took him out last year.

Unfortunately I can´t change. If you want to change be my guest. I just provided the info I saw with a link. It stated he had been carted off and that normally means something serious enough that you cannot walk off the field on your own.

I do agree he's a ways away from playing in Chicago, but ankles can be serious, and it really would be a shame if it costs him much time. He can ride this little high he's been on and maybe take off. Who knows how much a significant injury could set him back.

Very Kewl, the link I have does not give prognosis yet.

See below:

Someone commented after the article that he thinks he blew out his right knee . Said he heard it pop. I know its irresponsible to say that prematurely so TIFWIW.

If by years you mean ONE I agree with you.

I was there, and it was amazing. That play shouldn't have been made, but it was, and it was shocking. Mitchell was down for a long time, and everyone but Viciedo and Pena ran out to check on him. He was down on his stomach writhing in pain, as the entire stadium cheered his tremendous play.

So he is down on the ground for a long time wrenching with pain for a sprained ankle? If so I question his pain tolerance. has to be something more.

He hit the wall hard. He must have had the wind knocked out of him. He was rolling around for maybe twenty seconds, before the Angels trainer got to him. Regardless, it looked like it hurt. He seemed okay when they carted him off the field. I couldn't get a decent read of just how serious it was.

Not sure if anyone is listening to the broadcast, but Mitchell has a ligament tear in his ankle. Surgery next week.

Well, sh**. I was looking forward to him playing in B'ham.
