UNI may have been underseeded, but KU was still the #1 overall seed, it doesnt give them any excuse for losing. If Mario Chalmers doesnt hit that 3 or if Derrick Rose hits one more free throw, Self would not be feeling very comfortable in Lawrence. Other than 08, his teams have mightily underperformed in the tourney.

Watching the SU/Gonzaga game, it makes me wonder, how awesome would it have been if Gus Johnson had announced that KU/UNI game? I can only imagine his call on that late 3 to win the game.

I thought this was an interesting quote from an SI article

OKLAHOMA CITY -- It was after a late December win over Belmont that Kansas assistant coach Kurtis Townsend took senior point guard Sherron Collins aside for a little talk. Sure, the Jayhawks had blown out the Bruins 81-51 in the end, but the Jayhawks had been sloppy and sluggish in the first half. "Sherron, what's wrong with the team?" asked Townsend. 'Coach,' said Collins, 'We always feel we can go on a 20-4 run, at any time.'

"That's the kind of thinking that can you in trouble," Townsend warned him. "One time, you're going to try to go on that run and you're not going to do it. Something bad is going to happen."

Refs and turnovers have made this GT/Ohio St. game unwatchable. I'm not going to go all Illinois basketball fan here, but the refs have certainly helped out Ohio St. so far.

They should have called even more on GT, they are a bunch of hacks. Just because the fouling helps them out, doesnt mean its the refs. If OSU could hit the side of a barn with their shots they'd be up by alot.

All I know is Madsen got more respect from the refs in the first half than 2 potential 1st round picks for GT did. Both teams played god awful though, so Ohio St. should be in great position if they make any of their shots in the 2nd half. Hopefully Favors can get one touch on offense.

Wow, nice tackle by Lauderdale not called for a foul. Good luck next round Rock.

LOL, he was clearly dragged down.

Take a look at the constant reaching and holding on Turner every time he walks down the court thats not getting called.

It's happening both ways between him and Shumpert. Don't worry, I'm not going to harp on this after the game. I'm man enough to admit when one team is better than the other. I just wish Favors could have been given a little more leniency by the refs, as two of the calls have been quite weak on him.

Its not over yet.

And his elbows and hooks look much more prominent against a smaller guy like Lighty which is why they've called at least the last borderline one.

I agree, it's pretty weak officiating and I've seen enough college basketball to know that officials are too stupid to realize the point you made.

Gigantic comeback for Maryland and they actually lead by 1 with 31 seconds to go. MSU has the ball though.

They have just fallen apart here. You wonder how different things would look with Lucas in the game.
