whitesoxfan99
QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 09:49 PM) You see Keller give Weber a bad look after being removed following his tip dunk? Everything I've heard about Keller is that he's just a huge cancer in the locker room. I despise Keller and it is rare for me to truly hate a college athlete that isn't getting into trouble off the court but he is so selfish and he was told when he was recruited his role was a junkyard dog type but he never accepted it. fathom
My prediction is that 2 seasons from now, Tyler Griffey will be the best player on Illinois' roster. He's going to be a very good player.

He's going to be a very good player. He has a lot of work to do on defense and with his rebounding but he is going to be a fantastic offensive player for sure. And I'm not worried about him becoming at least an adequate defender and rebounder.

Something that's very important is that some of the players with poor work ethics leave the program before they set a bad example for some of the superior talents coming in. If you have guys like McCamey and Davis showing Richmond/Leonard/Head how to go through the motions, then that's a disaster waiting to happen. If you have guys like McCamey and Davis showing Richmond/Leonard/Head how to go through the motions, then that's a disaster waiting to happen. Davis is such an incredibly frustrating player. He doesn't box out, doesn't provide help side defense, and still refuses to go up strong on offense yet he puts up a double double on a consistent basis. If he ever develops any mental toughness and plays hard all the time he would be such a stud. Hopefully since he only has one year left the light goes on since it will be his last chance to showcase himself to pro scouts. See also Warren Carter and Brian Cook (Cook was always more talented than Davis be also would disappear far too often).

I disagree on McCamey, yes he has clashed with Weber a few times but he has also listened and definitely upped his game.
LittleHurt05
Props to Dayton for a well-played game, at least the parts I didn't sleep through. The more I looked ahead to a possible NIT final vs. UNC, maybe its better they lost before. I dont think I could handle losing another final to them, even in the lowly NIT. Thanks Illini for a f***ed up, but entertaining season. Hopefully DMac & Davis can figure out in the offseason how to bring it for a full game, not just from time to time. With Jereme & Co. stepping on to campus, they might be able to return to being relevant again next season. For all the bad talk about Keller, he is nowhere near the worst JUCO player in recent Illini history. Anyone remember Blandon Ferguson from the Self era? Ugh, now that guy sucked.
