Jenks, who has a 37.80 ERA in two spring outings, missed his turn to pitch on Saturday because of irritation. He is scheduled to pitch Monday against Kansas City and vowed to be ready for the opener against Cleveland on April 5. "No doubt about it," he said on Sunday. ... No. When his velocity returns to mid-90+ on a consistent basis I will stop worrying about the closer position. I do not think that is going to happen. If this happened it would show up as elbow pain and difficulty with his breaking pitches more than the fastball. If anything he seems to be throwing more breaking pitches than before. But, the injury has bothered him since Sept and now he will be ready to go in two weeks? I am not sure I am following this logic.
