Big Irish
The next 12 games: 6 w/KC 3 w/Seattle 3 w/Oak These 12 games will tell us if this team is a contender or a pretender. I think we need to win 8 of these games to show we are for real. Even if we don't we could still win the division because it is weak but winning a series in Seattle would be huge especially since they have owned us. Same with Oakland. Doing that would also show the rest of the baseball world that the Sox are for real and maybe they will stop getting treated like un wanted step-children in this town. SweetJfour
Winning eight of the next twelve would be great and they can obviously do it. It would definitely show the White Sox are for real and will no longer be a pushover on everyone's schedule. I want nothing more than people in other American League cities to see Chicago on the schedule and think, "Oh s***, we'll be lucky to win two against them." Unfortunately as long as that miserable excuse for a baseball franchise is destroying this city on the Northside, the White Sox will always play second fiddle. It's a damn shame that Cub fans don't have enough common sense to realize that they are chasing an impossible dream!! :fthecubs :sosasucks :fthecubs
southsider2k5
There is one thing that will change all of that, the World f***ing Series. Short of that, we will always be second fiddle.

A pennant would also go a long way. Winning a World Series would probly get the Sox the respect and media coverage they deserve, not to mention a bigger fan base. I could definitely see some of those cubs "fans" jumping ship

SweetJfour
I don't think it would really even take a World Series victory. A playoff series win or two would make Chicago baseball fans realize that "hey, we're spending all the money over here to try and field a winner, and this other team on the Southside is spening half as much and winning. What's with that?" If the Sox make the playoffs this year and the Cub's don't, I think Kenny Williams should get to publicly CANE Jim Hendry right in front of Wrigley Field on opening day next year!!!!!! Just go with it...the way we're hitting, we can compete with anybody if our pitching (particularly the bullpen) can keep us in the game. And as we all know, once you get into the playoffs, ANYTHING can happen.

JUGGERNAUT
It's a rough schedule the rest of the way. We've got 6-9 games against the best of the ALW, ALC, & ALE facing out. So I prefer to take it 1 game at a time. I think tonight's game is as important as the next 12. Win gm 1 & set the tone.
SweetJfour
There would be nothing sweeter than the White Sox taking the front page of the Chicago Tribune with a World Series headline. Of course it would probably be replaced by some bogus Cubs news like "Cubs tell White Sox, wait till next year". At least we can come up with a better team motto than that. Even if it is "The kids can play".

Texsox
4-2 against KC and .500 against Oak and Sea would be just fine. 7-5 and keep moving. We need to start beating the inferior teams. If we can hold our own against the A's, Mariners, BoSox, etc. of the world and start beating the Tigers we will be fine. It's being swept by the likes of Detroit that have hurt our chances.
