RibbieRubarb
The White Sox rep has been poor defense. Manyexpert "analysts" have said this could lead to our downfall this season. The White Sox have had poor defenses in the past, but has anyone really checked into their stats this year? Baseball Prospectus.com has and deems us an "above-average defense" Actually we are 4th in the AL in Defensive Efficiency and 6th in MLB. Check us out... Hmmmm. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/current/...def_eff2003.htm
southsider2k5
I think there is some crow to be fed to some "experts"...
The Critic
I've been pleasantly surprised by the defensive play of both Valentin and Lee lately. Neither are anywhere near Gold Glove status, but the bonehead plays and botched grounders are fewer and further between. And I was EXTREMELY happy with Frank's defensive play when he was at first. He seemed really comfortable over there, and happy to be on the field, and it showed.

And i think he should be there 5 to 7 games in 1st, he hits much better when he is playing and JM puts him on DH almost every game. He is hitting great lately, but if he is playing almost all games in there he would have much better numbers. IMO.
Jim Fainter
Fielding stats are useless, but the Sox have improved defensively. Alomar has helped on double plays, and Crede is getting better all the time.
upnorthsox
Jose is on pace for 18 E's and 105 DP's, that's a huge improvement for him. Konerko is still the achilles heel in that IF, you can attribute 4 errors apiece for Jose and Joe because of his inability to dig balls out of the dirt. SweetJfour
The infield is definitely getting better every day. Alomar seems to be helping Jose out quite a bit and Joe C. is a future gold glover in this league for years to come. Konerko obviously isn't the best defensive firstbaseman in the league, but I have seen him make some great plays this year as well as some suspect ones. Yeah, and I'll bet you can probably add 4 errors a piece to Joe and Jose for balls that Paulie DID dig out of the dirt.
