lostfan
QUOTE (mr_genius @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 09:41 PM) really? that actually surprises me. i wouldn't have booed. He walked out and the crowd noise was about what you'd expect (mixed cheering and booing, people can't help themselves) then he pulled out his hat and put it on and the crowd looked stunned and started booing, then went back to cheering. I thought it was kind of funny actually, don't read comments on any article talking about this though because they are all stupid.

lostfan
oh whoops, I thought I was talking about the Washington crowd. Why the hell would they boo him at USCF for wearing a Sox hat? edit: the above is a rhetorical question Edited April 6, 2010 by lostfan

lostfan
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 10:57 PM) Probably because he was wearing a nationals jacket? That was my thought, but who the hell knows. I read that he actually didn't want to wear the Nationals jacket but he got talked into it. They say it's a tradition for the president to wear a Nationals jacket but how is it really a tradition? Only one president (Bush) actually threw out a first pitch in a Nationals jacket. hammerhead johnson
I don't know. I mean, a reasonable person would never boo Obama for wearing a Nationals jacket in Washington DC on opening day. If that's true, then the Sox fanbase is a hell of a lot dumber than I thought it was. It was more than likely just a bunch of cowards that disagree with his politics. You could also throw in some serious retards that don't think he's a legitimate Sox fan, for whatever reason. Those people are few and far between, I'm sure.
