chw42
I think both Carlos and Gordon are trying to do way too much at the plate.
Capn12
Pathetic efforts Beckham and CQ, pure awesomeness.
jphat007
I mean, there is no sense waiting for this offense to pick it up. Like somebody else said, they just aren't any good.
Wanne
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) Pop ups are fun! he's been dropping his hands this entire season so far...
TitoMB345
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 03:26 PM) And in 2006 we were near the top of the league. So 2 years in the upper half, 2 years in the bottom 1/3, for a team that spends a large fraction of its money on pitching. It goes way way way beyond that. As I said before, there is a difference between losing and playing well, and losing and playing s***ty.

joeynach
UGH another Quentin pop out on the first pitch or early in the count. CUT DOWN ON YOUR SWING AND STOP SWINGING FOR THE FENCES EVERYTIME. I cant watch this amateur hour crap.

Balta1701
QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 03:27 PM) It goes way way way beyond that. As I said before, there is a difference between losing and playing well, and losing and playing s***ty. No one feels like they're playing well when they're losing. You could say we're playing darn well with the pitching we're getting. Losing 12-8 every day feels just as bad.
TitoMB345
CG with his second Uribe impression today. He's got the first-pitch-pop-out down to a tee apparently.
BigSqwert
Do we even have double digit hits YTD?
Soxbadger
QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 02:26 PM) But you're going to get a base hit if lucky 3 out of 10 times. The successful bunt can happen (with Pierre) probably 9 out of 10 times. Gotta go with the odds to get the runner in scoring position. Right but the people after still need to get a hit, meaning that you have 9/10 for the bunt, then 3/10 for the hit. My way you would have had 3/10 for the hit, then having Beckham/CQ only needing a sac fly to tie the game.

Dick Allen
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 02:24 PM) Yes, it is entirely based on records...with the noteworthy exception of teams keeping their pick if they're unable to sign a draft pick in a previous year. If the Sox get the worst record, they get the #1 pick. The Sox are almost always around .500 or better, so they typically draft in the teens or worse. The only time in the past 10 years they've drafted in the top 10, they got Becktackular. Using that as a crutch for the Sox poor player development is weak. Boston usually drafts after the White Sox and they have done a much better job. There are more good players than the guys drafted in the top 10. There was one year the Sox had 7 picks in the top 50 or so and picked nothing but garbage.
chw42
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 02:28 PM) Gordon looks lost as hell. It's Walker's fault.

greg775
Good like to those who bought season tickets. Hope you enjoy stellar starting pitching. You can take your kids to the games and teach them how to pitch at least.
ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 02:29 PM) Linebrink gets another inning. More opportunity to fail.
Dick Allen
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 02:29 PM) Linebrink gets another inning. He has to. The bullpen has been getting a workout with it early in the season and back to back extra inning games.
TheHolyBovine
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 02:28 PM) Gordon looks lost as hell. Gordon will have problems in this league if he never learns to pull a fastball. And Quentin was obviously a one-year wonder... AND THESE GUYS ARE THE "BEST" HITTERS ON THIS SORRY-ASS TEAM. Boston usually drafts after the White Sox and they have done a much better job. There are more good players than the guys drafted in the top 10. There was one year the Sox had 7 picks in the top 50 or so and picked nothing but garbage. And yet, even with the superior drafting abilities of Boston, look how much money they had to invest in upgrading their team in the offseason. Your drafts seem a lot better when you can spend $150 million every offseason to fill any hole that appears.
