I disagree. He just doesn't have that big curve anymore. Take the Kubel at bat, he gets two strikes on him and throws two changeups. In the past he would have dropped the curve and got him.

Oh, so he cant throw it at all anymore? He lost it completely? Or maybe AJ didnt call for it. I saw Bobby throw it in spring training, do you think he left it on the plane?

Why? He had two pretty easy outs, Hardy broke his bat and blooped a single, looked pretty good to me. Clearly bad pitch selection by AJ to Thome, but Jenks's stuff is all there.

did you see that blooped single? was extremely solid if thats a bloop line drive right up the middle.

I don't think Bobby looked bad at all.

I agree with the comment above that said the problem was bad pitch selection to Thome.

Other than that, I thought he looked pretty good.

Love to see the 96mph heater this early in the season. That's a good sign IMO.

Its no unusual to see a changeup used against a left handed hitter vs a curve thrown by a righty. Of course Bobby had zero control with his change and they prob should have gone to the curve.

Jenks' stuff is really there. I'm especially impressed with that two-seamer he threw for a K or swing and miss, I don't remember which. His stuff is diverse enough that I venture to say he has starter stuff.

Nice win, we need some of those things to go our way after the last four games.

Did Hardy run through a sign, or did their third base coach really send him there? I mean, that was terrible.

Also, I didn't know Andruw Jones spoke English so well.

Amazing how the same play went our way in the top of the 9th, but then again the bottom of the 9th. We almost lost that one to Jim Thome though

Two things to know about Dutch people.

1) They are clutch hitters

2) They speak English pretty well

It's a law in the Netherlands.

MARK!

Mark bouncing back after those first three innings (and throwing 113 pitches in the 2nd week of April) was huge. Not only to keep us in the game, but also to save a bullpen that's been really taxed over the previous few games. Now the Sox go into Toronto with some emotional momentum and a relatively fresh pen.
