JorgeFabregas
Jenks looks fine. s*** happens. He's about 10 pegs down the list of things to worry about.
RockRaines
QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) I disagree. He just doesn't have that big curve anymore. Take the Kubel at bat, he gets two strikes on him and throws two changeups. In the past he would have dropped the curve and got him. Oh, so he cant throw it at all anymore? He lost it completely? Or maybe AJ didnt call for it. I saw Bobby throw it in spring training, do you think he left it on the plane?
earthshiner
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) A closer shouldn't be giving up a single and a double when his team has a one-run lead. Rod Beck, Todd Jones, and Bob Wickman say hello
Stocking
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 10:33 AM) Why? He had two pretty easy outs, Hardy broke his bat and blooped a single, looked pretty good to me. Clearly bad pitch selection by AJ to Thome, but Jenks's stuff is all there. did you see that blooped single? was extremely solid if thats a bloop line drive right up the middle. RockRaines
QUOTE (earthshiner @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:36 PM) Rod Beck, Todd Jones, and Bob Wickman say hello Mariano Rivera says hello as well, since he's done it too. Turns out there are no perfect players in baseball.
scenario
I don't think Bobby looked bad at all. I agree with the comment above that said the problem was bad pitch selection to Thome. Other than that, I thought he looked pretty good. Love to see the 96mph heater this early in the season. That's a good sign IMO.

It bounced about 13 times before it go to Rios, and it was a broken bat.

That's a good sign IMO. Its no unusual to see a changeup used against a left handed hitter vs a curve thrown by a righty. Of course Bobby had zero control with his change and they prob should have gone to the curve.
Baines3
I thought Jim Thome was going to come back and haunt us. A terrific play at the plate saving the game. :gosoxretro: :headbang
ThunderBolt
Paulie's off to a heck of a start. I guess rumors of his decline were greatly exaggerated.

hogan873
Sounds like the bats woke up a bit. Good news. Hopefully the momentum carries into Toronto!

Jake
Jenks' stuff is really there. I'm especially impressed with that two-seamer he threw for a K or swing and miss, I don't remember which. His stuff is diverse enough that I venture to say he has starter stuff.
Quin
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:43 PM) Paulie's off to a heck of a start. I guess rumors of his decline were greatly exaggerated. As long as he stays healthy, I think he can produce .280-30 HR-100 RBI easily.
elrockinMT
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) Nice win, we need some of those things to go our way after the last four games. Did Hardy run through a sign, or did their third base coach really send him there? I mean, that was terrible. Also, I didn't know Andruw Jones spoke English so well. Amazing how the same play went our way in the top of the 9th, but then again the bottom of the 9th. We almost lost that one to Jim Thome though

Two things to know about Dutch people. 1) They are clutch hitters 2) They speak English pretty well It's a law in the Netherlands.
WCSox
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) MARK! Mark bouncing back after those first three innings (and throwing 113 pitches in the 2nd week of April) was huge. Not only to keep us in the game, but also to save a bullpen that's been really taxed over the previous few games. Now the Sox go into Toronto with some emotional momentum and a relatively fresh pen. LittleHurt05
I can't wait to see what the Twins 3rd base coach has to say about that one. Juan Pierre with the missile to the cut off man!!!!
The Ginger Kid
They're trying. Maybe a bit too hard, but they're definitely trying. Good to see Bobby throwing some smoke today.
