That wasn't the point I was trying to make. What I'm saying is who cares when he gets those 3 hits? If he went 3 for 3 to start the game and then went 0-2 it would be the same end result. I'm not b****ing about him at all.

that's completely and utterly untrue.

if he's 3-3 early in the game the rest of the game takes on a whole different dimension. plus who knows if he gets stranded from those 3-3? I mean pierre isn't exactly a great rbi man up to this point.

there is absolutely no way in hell you can say the end result would be exactly the same if he went 3-3 then 0-2 in his last two PAs.

Teahen showed cojones last night!

Peavy, Pierre and Alexei (at bat) on the other hand...(Alexei did make a play at SS that saved the game!)

I wish I could see the play that Alexei made, I can't find it. :(

Lets just say it wouldn't be considered a web gem.

That depends on who you ask.

I asked Hawk if it was a web gem, and he said it was the best play ever and I cried because I still haven't seen it. :(

LOL. I tell you what. That might have been the best play from a SS in the modern era.

The amazing thing was that our 3 and 4 hitters had the worst nights and we still scored eight runs.

1 for 11 isn't good? They have both been having nice starts but last was terrible.

This thread is great btw.

Teahen last night was not the Joe Credeesque 1-4 with the big hit late after popping out twice and grounding into a DP prior to that. Not your assine Hawk don't tell me what you do, tell me when you do it. It all equals out numbnuts.

Interesting article, but I am still not sure that Teahen was more valuable/heroic than Jones was.

Teahen tied the game two different times and then delivered the game winning hit. That's probably why.

Maybe the booing and adverse reaction will light a fire under Alex?

Would be nice to see him playing with some fire and motivation...although he does everything so smoothly and effortlessly (the anti-Rowand or the modern-day Devon White) that it looks like he's not trying. Aka the non-chalant Jon Garland Effect.

He did go 3/5 last night with some SBs? (one or two?)

I think there is something to the fact that it doesn't look like alex is trying. But Last night his swing was super level. I liked it. He's a smooth player, and I really love him in CF.

Rios was money too.

Ozzie said that we should boo Rios at the Cell and maybe he'll hit like he did in Toronto..

Buehrle and Putz already started this trend.

On WSCR they were comparing Rios contract to Soriano......there is no comparison on any level Soriano is owed $90M over 5 years and there is no positive outlook.

That's laughable.

One's a terrible defender and is losing it at the plate a bit and also getting older with a larger commitment.

The other's a much better defender with upside at the plate since he's still in the middle of his prime years.

Just wondering, what what show was this?
