ThunderBolt
The Knights should start hitting again now that they're away from The Orioles AAA pitching buzzsaw.
Ozzie Ball
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 10:17 PM) The Knights should start hitting again now that they're away from The Orioles AAA pitching buzzsaw. Yeah Norfolk have a great top of the rotation with Brandon Erbe, Chris Tillman and Jake Arrieta. The Knights did tag both Erbe and Tillman for the L though. danman31
Quite a few hot starts for Winston-Salem. 6 regular starters hitting over .300 (Phegley not one of them). Brandon Short is hitting .333 with an OPS over 1. He's not walking much, but only has 4 K which is great. He's a really good athlete. It's good to see him progressing. Even Gilmore and Greene are hitting, but Gilmore has 3 errors at 3rd already.
SoxAce
Nice star for my boy Nate Jones. Though Shoemaker is only hitting .174, he's got a .344 OBP with his discipline (5 BB's already) so that is nice to see from him. His bat will probably pick up as the season goes along here. NorthSideSox72
Viciedo drew the silver sombrero. CJ Retherford so far this season (8 games, 26 AB): .346/.433/.500/.
southsider2k5
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 07:44 AM) Viciedo drew the silver sombrero. CJ Retherford so far this season (8 games, 26 AB): .346/.433/.500/.933 I really think he might be the first call up this year for a non-pitching injury. Balta1701
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 10:03 AM) Again? I'm suggesting that our first non-pitching injury callup has already happened, silly.
JorgeFabregas
Danks hasn't struck out in 3 straight games. He has a respectable 8:5 K/BB on the season. I'm wondering if Viciedo's AAA promotion was merited.

Yeah I was going to say, that wasn't a call-up - Lucy made the 25-man roster out of ST. And so far, he seems to be doing pretty well. ThunderBolt
It's great to see Marquez go out and pitch a nice game. Also, good to see Danks developing more power. Edited April 16, 2010 by Thunderbolt

Does Viciedo have to get hits every day to avoid being criticized? He went 2-4 plus a walk on Tuesday, and 2-4 on Wednesday... But goes hitless on Thursday and gets called out by people? I still don't understand why people refer to his numbers last year as a disappointment, he was one of the league leaders. 8th in games played, 2nd in at bats, 4th in runs scored, 2nd only to Retherford in hits, 2nd only to David Cook in RBI, 7th in total bases. He went 2-4 plus a walk on Tuesday, and 2-4 on Wednesday... But goes hitless on Thursday and gets called out by people? Ignore him bro. The real peeps here know whats going on. Hell just a couple days ago Danks 2 was K'ing more than he was now the tides switched. Still early people. Viciedo started off slow last year and picked it up later by adjusting. No power, no walks, too many K's, to go along with less than glowing scouting reports. Oh yeah, that $10M price tag doesn't help people's perception either.
