greg775
How bout this being a game thread tonight. This board is dead. I watched the first half of the game. To me, Peavy looked bad. I didn't sense he had zip on his fastball. Did you all? He didn't attack any hitters. Way too many walks, yuk. Six hits for the punchless wonders?? Such dismal offense. Nice to see Teahen go deep. No other highlights. I personally don't know what I'd do if I was Oz except pick our nine best guys and play them EVERY DAY. Other than that, I guess just hope April was the bad month we got out of the way early. Any general comments on this game tonight? TitoMB345
Omar Vizquel needs to never, ever sniff the lineup at the 2 spot for this team to achieve anything. AJ should never bat higher than 7th. 5th? For a guy with under .500 OPS?
MiddleCoastBias
It's tough to follow that tirade. But seriously, it's more than a bit disconcerting to see how Peavy has performed this year. I guess I will give Ozzie credit for attempting something really new in the lineup; it days past he has said he's trying something new but it's really only been small changes. Today was a whole-sale lineup change: given Beckham will be in the everyday lineup, it was refreshing to see Q was moved down because something is clearly not clicking for him right now. I feel like if you replace the real pieces for their place-holders in today's lineup might make for interesting everyday lineup ie Beckham for Vizquel, Rios for Jones in CF and batting 3rd. AJ batting 5th was more than questionable given how he's hit this season, probably a reflection of Ozzie's boner for L-R-etc. Not many positives, but I'd like to think that at least Ozzie is trying to do something to get it going, though why he did it with the scrub lineup, I can't be sure. greg775
Peavy was clocked at 95mph several times tonight. OK, but did you think in watching the game he had a good fastball? I didn't regardless of what the gun said. Just wondering others' opinions on Jake and the game.
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 12:08 AM) OK, but did you think in watching the game he had a good fastball? I didn't regardless of what the gun said. Just wondering others' opinions on Jake and the game. He walked 7. You do that against the Pirates and you might get away with it. The Rays? See ya!
