chw42
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) Remember that when you complain about not bunting in the future. We didn't score either f***ing way. With this lineup it doesn't f***ing matter either way! That said, give me a walkoff homer anyday today. Keep it tied. There's nothing wrong with bunting a guy over to third late in games. fathom
Like I said, I was fine with not bunting. But Alexei not even trying to hit the ball to right field is inexcusable.
Steve9347
So... Why can't Gordon hit?
The Critic
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) Hopefully Beckham can bang some slumpbusters tonight and find his bat speed. Too much "bat speed" with the slumpbusters could demoralize a youngster.
fathom
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 09:32 PM) So... Why can't Gordon hit? He's thinking too much at the plate, and he's pushing his bat through the zone.
chw42
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 03:31 PM) Like I said, I was fine with not bunting. But Alexei not even trying to hit the ball to right field is inexcusable. With Pierre next, I actually wanted Alexei to try for a hit there. caulfield12
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) Because Juan Pierre doesn't have a chance in hell at getting a runner in from 3rd with less than 2 out and the infield in. Suicide or safety squeeze would be my call to get the run in. (See Carlos Guillen v. Sox, 2000 playoffs) Edited April 25, 2010 by caulfield12
ThunderBolt
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 04:30 PM) Remember that when you complain about not bunting in the future. We didn't score either f***ing way. With this lineup it doesn't f***ing matter either way! That said, give me a walkoff homer anyday today. Keep it tied. You over simplify nearly everything, Greg. The bunt lessens an offenses chances of scoring a run. It takes the bat out of the hitters hands. We can't hit every damn thing, but at least we're letting the hitters try. caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 03:31 PM) Like I said, I was fine with not bunting. But Alexei not even trying to hit the ball to right field is inexcusable. Even more upset with AJ not making a productive out in previous inning. I can understand Ramirez failing more than the smartest player on our team, in terms of baseball IQ.

caulfield12
Former Sox farmhand Josh Rupe trying to protect 4-2 eighth inning lead over the Twins. Scary...let's hope he can get the job done, they can't sweep KC on the road, can they? Edited April 25, 2010 by caulfield12

justBLAZE
Ozzie out, Danks stays in the game, Pena is warming.
caulfield12
Jesus....talk about bloops and dunkers. It would really suck if Danks lost the lead after those two hits. Danks is staying in, no Pena. At-bat of the game, our best pitcher versus their best hitter (well, maybe after Ichiro). Put him away!!!!
