SoxAce
Girardi has Granderson in the line-up who is 1-19 (now 1-20) career vs. Danks. He really is a terrible manager himself (oh, what he won the World Series last year with the Yanks Ace!!) Two micro-managers going at it, but ya.. Girardi is bad. iamshack
QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 1, 2010 -> 11:42 AM) Don't stereo-type all of us. For one, I don't post much on game threads, and the only negative thing I always say is about Juan Pierre and his game. We all know Juan is brutal right now. I am sure he knows it, his mother knows it, his wife knows it, his dog probably is not even running to him when he comes home at night. The same goes for Vizquel...the guy is 67 years old. He has NO business being on his office softball team, let alone starting on a professional baseball team. But GUESS WHAT? It's who we have in the f***ing starting lineup today. So let's cheer for them to get the job done, whether it's by some miracle of Jehovah or by getting hit by a pitch. I hate coming in here and people are already forecasting doom before anything negative even happens. What is the f***ing point? Why torture yourself if you have that attitude? Why even bother? Go out and do some yardwork. Go shopping. Play golf. I don't care what you do. But I want to follow the game because I am stuck at work, and it would be nice if I could do so without wanting to slit my wrists even more than this bastard sitting in the desk behind is making me want to. So have some f***ing faith and cheer your team on.

I don't think the 1-20 is the issue, it's that Granderson should never play against a LHP. His splits are really dramatic.
hammerhead johnson
I'm not one of these fans that is delusional enough to think I know better than a big league manager, but I'm fairly confident that I could take a louisville slugger to the back of the head from Albert Pujols and still have enough brain cells left to keep Omar Vizquel out of the leadoff slot. This is just flat out disgusting. Pierre might be wack as f***, but he's still a much better option out of the leadoff slot than 43 year old Omar. When I say negative things about Pierre/Vizquel/Kotsay, I'd love to be proven wrong, but I understand that they are what they are, and that's mediocre baseball players. I'm not going to have blind faith in sub-par players, I know better.

He need to work on going right back up the middle. He's really struggled to hit the ball on the line to LF this season. I can only recall one or two hard hit balls to LF for him.
