WilliamTell
I'm going for Paddy O'Prado, or whatever the name is. He's an Iowa horse. First time in 20 years a horse from Iowa is in it. Otherwise I'm going for Homeboykris because that's the funniest name.
Soxbadger
haha sorry, given the track condition and the fact I havent looked at any of the racing forms, Im not really going to make a prediction. Given the track condition I would venture to say that a dark horse could be a good pick. This will be the worst track conditions I can remember. LittleHurt05
Went to the OTB in the morning and the wife won the exacta on the race! It helped pay for all of the UC beers needed during that hockey game.
RockRaines
Last horse I bet on in the derby was shot on the track. Luckily i was watching it from the hot tub at the topless pool at the Mandalay. Didnt matter as much at that point.
cabiness42
Since I had to go back to 2010, I'm guessing there's not much interest here, but this race is kinda a big deal where I live. Anybody else paying attention?
ChiSox_Sonix
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 1, 2015 -> 07:45 AM) Since I had to go back to 2010, I'm guessing there's not much interest here, but this race is kinda a big deal where I live. Anybody else paying attention? I love the Derby. I watch it every year. I'm hoping that next year will be the year I can make it down there. I'll probably place a few bets on it tomorrow as well. southsider2k5
My favorite thing about the derby is the stretch all by the announcer. It is one of my favorite things in sports.

This isn't from the Derby, but it is a rather interesting stretch call:

Middle Buffalo
I've bet the triple crown races against my dad every year for 30+ years. It started as a $2/race bet, and it hasn't changed much. We usually each pick 2 horses for this race. If none win, we let it ride. I picked Dortmund and Upstart.

TheChrisSamsa
I've grown to love Derby day... My lady graduated from SIU with an equine science degree, so she's all about the ponies. I like small time gambling so it works out. I've also never won anything on horse racing, but one of these years...

ChiSox_Sonix
I had American Pharaoh, Dortmund and Frosted (4th) in a trifecta box. So close! Edited May 4, 2015 by ChiSox_Sonix
cabiness42
Had four horses boxed in a $1 trifecta. Hit it, but the 1-2-3 finish combo paid the second lowest of the 24 possible combinations we had. $101 is the lowest a $1 Derby trifecta has paid in several years.
