SoxAce
I know he's gotten on base a couple times the last two games, but Kotsay batting 5th still makes me chuckle. Rios should be batting higher (or switch he and the struggling Beckham) Edited May 3, 2010 by SoxAce

greg775
Why in the world would you want Beckham lower? Beckham is our golden boy and the team is counting on him. Team will go nowhere without him. Leave him be and let him hit.
Balta1701
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 3, 2010 -> 04:02 PM) Why in the world would you want Beckham lower? Beckham is our golden boy and the team is counting on him. Team will go nowhere without him. Leave him be and let him hit. Because his mechanics are so screwed up right now that based on your standards, this team is going no where because he's not going to start hitting. greg775
So you want him to be in the lineup but lower? He's still in our godawful lineup. What the f*** difference does it make where he bats? We can't bat everybody ninth.
Balta1701
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 3, 2010 -> 04:07 PM) So you want him to be in the lineup but lower? He's still in our godawful lineup. What the f*** difference does it make where he bats? We can't bat everybody ninth. Frankly, I think he needs either a few days off to do nothing but work with the pitching coach or a stint in AAA. Might snap out of it on his own with regular playing time, but it's not just in his head right now, it's fully mechanical.
BigSqwert
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 3, 2010 -> 03:07 PM) What the f*** difference does it make where he bats? Since you don't think lineups matter, you'd be ok with something like this? Paulie Kotsay Pierre Teahen Ramirez AJ Beckham Carlos Jones

Beckham is our golden boy and the team is counting on him. Team will go nowhere without him. Leave him be and let him hit. Hmm... to perhaps give him a lesser PA (horrid OBP) since he's hurting us right now with the bat more-so than helping us? How bout to help him get in a better pitch recognition to hit in? Or maybe this might be it, to get him to focus more on giving better at-bats (even Pierre was doing that in the 9 spot) than striking out at an alarming rate with the usual 1 or 2 out, nobody on base? Just a hunch. I personally think he needs a day or two off mentally myself however. Edited May 3, 2010 by SoxAce

ThunderBolt
Ozzie just doesn't get it. What has Pierre done outside of one game this week that proves he's learned his lesson? What has Beckham done to prove he should still be hitting second?
