BigSqwert
QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 4, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) Optimal lineup IMO. Thats about as good as we're gonna get right now. I agree with your 2nd statement not your first. Having Rio lead off or bat 2nd is optimal. He needs to see more ABs than Pierre or Beckham. But then again we know Ozzie won't do that. Kalapse
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 4, 2010 -> 03:07 PM) I agree with your 2nd statement not your first. Having Rio lead off or bat 2nd is optimal. He needs to see more ABs than Pierre or Beckham. But then again we know Ozzie won't do that. At this point I'd much rather have Rios hit behind Jones in Konerko (who are getting on base) than Teahen and Ramirez one of whom's OBP has dropped nearly .070 points over the past week and the other is sporting an OBP right around .240. The 5th guy in the lineup will typically get the most opportunities to hit with men on base since your #3 and #4 hitters are typically 2 of your best (that's definitely true of the Sox's lineup right now) and I want Rios hitting with an opportunity to drive men in. dmbjeff
I just wish Q was DHing instead. If he is battling a sore hammy, why put him in RF? Let Pierre play LF and Jones in RF.

SoxAce
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 4, 2010 -> 03:48 PM) Jones has already had issues with back spasms. We are going to have to baby Jones and Quentin through-out the season. They are both very IP through a grueling season. I hate Pierre with a passion, but the man is durable. ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 4, 2010 -> 03:48 PM) Jones has already had issues with back spasms. Well Jones is playing LF. I care about Quentin's health over Jones' and Pierre's. DH Q-uperman.
gatnom
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 4, 2010 -> 06:48 PM) Well Jones is playing LF. I care about Quentin's health over Jones' and Pierre's. DH Q-uperman. I would have expected Ozzie to start him out slow since he's had that hamstring issue or whatever the past few days. Just seems like something Ozzie would do.
