champs2005
I was there last night and booed the jerk who ran on the field. Not many other folks booed. Why do folks cheer for these knuckleheads? Why is it amusing? I think that if the whole crowd booed loudly, it might make some of these drunken psychos not take the plunge.
Greg Hibbard
I think Farmio said last night that it's something like a $2000 auto-fine. That, the beating they will certainly receive from security, and a night in jail ought to be enough of a deterrent, but here we are. BigSqwert
I'm surprised it even happened. Seems like there were more security guards at the game than fans. I'll be here all night. Don't forget to tip your servers.
Marky Mark
If it happens all the time, it gets very annoying. But if it doesn't happen much and your team is down 2-0, a change of pace can be entertaining for fans. Particularly if you get to see him get tackled, which unfortunately for the fans they really did not get to see. I was pretty surprised that they showed it on TV. Typically they try not to broadcast the fan in order to demotivate future incidents.
maggsmaggs
Anyone who runs onto the field should be tasered, in my opinion. It's the only way people will stop doing it.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ May 7, 2010 -> 11:05 AM) I think Farmio said last night that it's something like a $2000 auto-fine. That, the beating they will certainly receive from security, and a night in jail ought to be enough of a deterrent, but here we are. And having a conviction for criminal trespass (and possibly other charges), and not being allowed into the park again ever. Even all that won't stop that 1 idiot. Marky Mark
They cannot ban you from coming back to the ballpark. Billy Ligue still goes all the time and they don't stop him.

Leonard Zelig
QUOTE (Markbilliards @ May 7, 2010 -> 11:09 AM) They cannot ban you from coming back to the ballpark. Billy Ligue still goes all the time and they don't stop him. They did it in the NBA after that mess in Detroit, but that was a privately owned venue, so it may be different. Soxbadger
You can ban a fan from coming to the park. Its just very hard to actually try and enforce it.

Exactly. Its called a Trespass Order, or a Red Line. Its just nearly impossible to enforce in a situation like this.
knightni
Five days in jail and a $5,000 fine ought to fix that.

No, not at all. The point isn't pain, and really it isn't that painful. The point is causing the subject to be unable to resist because their muscles are temporarily freaked out. Anyways, they also pretty much said they weren't going to taser anybody going on to the field anymore because they had to review the policy. SouthsideDon48
Is it wrong if me if I would actually like to see a child run onto the field and get tasered? And is it wrong of me if I would actually find it hilarious?
