caulfield12
Our old nemesis Boof Bonser going against the Knights...sporting a crisp 17.05 ERA heading into the start. Strange to see Lillibridge (13 steals, .276 AVG) looking like more of a prospect than CJ Retherford. I would be really surprised to see either in a White Sox jersey...although I suppose they could get a SEPT call-up or end up playing if we throw in the towel. Knowing Ozzie, he'd continue to play Vizquel over Nix, Retherford and Lillibridge. Tyler Flowers has been sitting out quite a few games...wonder if he's nursing a lingering injury or if they're working more with him in the dugout on strategy and game-calling??? Jordan Danks now at 30 K's in 99 at-bats with 2 homers. That won't work, although his doubles and triples make his overall OPS at least respectable. Lucy continues to "rake" (haha), with three hits in his first 4 PA's with the Knights. Viciedo HBP, OPS up to .768. caulfield12
Brandon Short extends hitting streak to 25 games with a dinger, now just 6 games off the All-Time Carolina League record. Congrats to Be-Short (and Quick). 4 homers on the season, 23 RBI's, .359 BA. 23 K's in 126 AB's, but only 3 walks, 2 steals and 5 CS. No Trayce Thompson, btw, but Ron Oester's son playing 3B for the Black #3 Cars. Edited May 8, 2010 by caulfield12
ThunderBolt
Danksy with a double.
flavum
14 K's for Doyle. Too bad he's old for Low-A.
daggins
Another dinger for Dayan. Guess the April doldrums wore off.
southsider2k5
Must be something with Cubans and April... They must not start playing baseball until after May Day,.
CSF
Another HR for Viciedo. He had a hot May last year too IIRC. Either way, keep it going.

Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ May 7, 2010 -> 09:44 PM) 3 strikeouts for Danks. 32 K's in 102 at bats. That's a 31% K%. That would make Chris Davis blush.
DBAHO
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 8, 2010 -> 02:45 PM) 32 K's in 102 at bats. That's a 31% K%. That would make Chris Davis blush. Indeed. He's just going to take some time to work those plate discipline issues out. Whether or not he's afforded that luxury at the minor league level with Pierre and the Sox majorly struggling, well we'll have to wait and see on that. SoxAce
Nice night for Brent Morel. 3-4, 2B, 2 RBI, R, SB. Average up to .310 now. Rafael Vera (one of the guys the sox acquired a few days ago) is an interesting "follow" cat from the org. Dude was drafted twice by us but did not sign. selected by the Chicago White Sox out of Manatee Junior College in the 49th round (No. 1,473 overall) of the June 2006 First-Year Player Draft, but did not sign...previously selected by the White Sox out of Sarasota (Fla.) High School in the 40th round (No. 1,204 overall) of the 2005 draft, but did not sign. Signed as a undrafted FA with the Indians in 08 and played 1B (also 2B, SS, 3B and all OF spots) for them as a utility player. Now he's acquired by us (I guess finally from our org's perspective) and has shifted over to SS playing everyday. Jerksticks
Not just ground balls, but weak ground balls. There's no way Kenny and Ozzie aren't taking notice of this awful presentation of self.
