ChiSox_Sonix
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 12, 2010 -> 04:11 AM) Last 7 days: AVG: .313, OBP: .353 Month of May: .349 BA, .391 OBP, 6/7 SB Obviously he won't keep those numbers up, and whether you like him or not, he was too good of a hitter to be as bad as he was in April all year long. Chisoxfn
Pierre won't be near as bad as some of you indicate. He isn't a stud leadoff hitter, but he isn't the worse either. His play definitely hurt the squad for a while, but as I've mentioned, some of our guys will hit better and we won't continue to hit .200 or so with RISP. So to get that number up, we will see this team hit a hot streak with RISP and produce more. As that happens and as we hit more in general (which will happen), this team should hit a streak. Factor in what is a good pitching staff (despite the numbers) and this is a team that is capable of putting up a pretty big run, imo. And that is why it is stupid to give up on a team in April. Maybe it never pans out, but there is no reason the above can't happen.
