zenryan
Wow, New Zealand with the additional time goal. Slovakia looked like crap. I didnt think they would advance but I thought they would take care of NZL.

Rowand44
The last few minutes of that game were entertaining as hell. The Ivory Coast had a few great opportunities to win it at the end.

BigSqwert
Scoreless halftime game via Brazil and North Korea. Shouldn't Brazil be up by at least 2 by now?
justBLAZE
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) Scoreless halftime game via Brazil and North Korea. Shouldn't Brazil be up by at least 2 by now? Yes, but its hard to play when the other team's objective is not to lose. They will defend all game. Now that the first goal is in we might see more. SoxFan1
Noth goals by Brazil were spectacular. Not flashy, but brilliant. Maicon scoring from that angle is impressive and the pass to score the 2nd was spot on by Robinho.
danman31
At least we have a losing team that scored a goal. It was all 1-1 or 0-0 draws and shutout wins before North Korea salvaged a late consolation goal. Disappointing start to the cup.
Soxbadger
First match is generally tentative. You absolutely do not want to lose and unless your playing the worst team in your group you never mind a draw. Now some teams need to win, which is going to change how the games are played. DBAHO
Spain in some trouble here. 1-0 down to the Swiss with 20 mins left. Xabi Alonso just hit the bar with a thunderous shot.

DBAHO
And the Swiss just hit the post, so, so close.
ChiSox_Sonix
Spain completely dominating this game too. If the Swiss hold on it would be one of the most outplayed wins in quite a while

DBAHO
Can't believe they didn't use Fabregas at all. That sort of game, he is the perfect player to use to thread a pass through, he pretty much has to put up with opposing teams doing that against Arsenal most weeks. Chile won't be easy for Spain to beat after today also, so they're in a bit of trouble right now.
chw42
I thought the Spanish team was probably the best in the world and they just got beat in a game they dominated... Wow

Wow I wouldn't right them off yet, they should have scored a few times today. They just need to get Torres match fit ASAP, so they can play Villa wide on the left where he belongs in that 4-5-1 Barcelona formation they use. LittleHurt05
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 12:55 PM) I wouldn't right them off yet, they should have scored a few times today. They just need to get Torres match fit ASAP, so they can play Villa wide on the left where he belongs in that 4-5-1 Barcelona formation they use. They had more than enough chances, just couldn't get that final touch into the net. I think it will all come down to the the matchup vs. Chile, a win there gets them in. (Assuming they get the 3 points vs. Honduras of course)
ZoomSlowik
Even if we assume Spain does get wins the next two games, if Switzerland gets a draw and a win that would put Spain second, meaning they probably draw Brazil in the knockout stage. Sonik22
And that's probably the end for South Africa, not like I didn't see it coming but I was hoping they'd somehow advance
