Balta1701
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 15, 2010 -> 10:46 PM) Hopefully Thornton's elbow won't be an issue. There's no way that having the words "Thornton" and "Elbow" in the same posts repeatedly are a good thing.

Balta1701
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 15, 2010 -> 10:50 PM) "Thornton's elbow is healthy and OK" would be nice about now. No, I don't want to hear that either, because that means there was at some point a reason to ask about the quality of Thornton's elbow. It's like saying "the explosions in the oil pipeline were minor and there's no risk of anything going wrong". I'm more worried about the fact that you have to say it than I am comforted by the statement.
southsideirish71
Peavy yelling at himself is comedy. Nice win, hope Matt's okay. Love the new widget.

southsideirish71
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) Soxnet.net game writeup here, with a summary of what we saw from Thornton and why we're all talking about it for anyone who missed the game. Best line evah in that summary..... Looks like Teahan wrote it. Gave up 4 runs, but that's a heckuva outing in this error of pitch counts. ThunderBolt
Gritty performance by Peavy. Great execution tonight, and a great ball game by Alexei. Please god, let Thornton be okay.
caulfield12
There was a brief scare when Thornton's left triceps muscle suffered a spasm tribune.com seems to be just a muscle spasm and nothing more serious, fingers crossed
greg775
Great win. Don't like when Peavy gets all mad when replaced. It was the right call to bring in relief. He gets taken deep and he's a loser tonight. Gotta trust the bullpen at that stage. Glad to see us get five runs after looking like s*** early. Is Beckham coming around slowly I hope? Oh and I forgot. Nice job, Peavy. Good effort again. Edited May 16, 2010 by greg775

Is Beckham coming around slowly I hope? Oh and I forgot. Nice job, Peavy. Good effort again. Peavy is the highest paid player on our team. That's what we got him for... Do you trust Jenks over Peavy in that situation? Not I. And we can't pitch Thornton in 90-100 games, he already was suffering from muscle spasms and it's only mid May.
