How can you blame the managing for guys failing at the plate? Oh yeah, he should have pinch hit for two high paid starters. And pinch hit with the equally bad crap on the bench.

Teahen is one of the worst hitters in baseball against LHP this year. With the tying run at the plate, you have to go to your bench. There's no excuse to have a game where you're facing a righty starter, and then have a situation where you have 4 lefties face a lefty reliever in the same inning.

It wouldn't make sense to use Nix,Castro or Quentin there. You don't want to ruin Teahen's fragile confidence!!!!

Just like using Vizquel as your DH with Teahen playing in the field....these are obvious, "no brainer" calls the kid from LITTLE BIG LEAGUE would have no trouble distinguishing right from wrong on.

Quentin is unavailable due to illness.

Castro is still your backup catcher.

Wow what great options (CQ is out). Fire Ozzie for not going to Nix and Castro!! Boy what a great team we have. Teahen and Juan make huge bucks. Fire Oz for signing them not for letting them hit there. Team sux.

This has to be the weakest bench in the AL, if not in the ML. I haven't looked at any other rosters or benches, but I would assume when you have all of your bench guys hitting under .225, you're in last place.

This news just in KW, the Tigers have done more than put themselves in a position to compete with you.

They've not only gotten younger and cheaper (Austin Jackson, Scherzer, etc.), they've proven that a city in the worst economic decline in the country has the balls to go out and add Valverde and J. Damon while the White Sox sit on their hands and knees praying for everything possible that could go right to break that way offensively (Quentin and Ramirez returning to form, along with Jones and Rios, Teahen actually being a decent starter, Pierre not being washed up and at the end of the line, Beckham not being a fluke, AJ not having all the wear and tear of catching sneak up on him).

Kudos to DD. He backed himself into a corner with the Robertson, Bonderman, Willis, Renteria, Sheffield, Ordonez, Carlos Guillen and Granderson deals...but he's back out of it quickly enough. Miguel Cabrera was like sarin gas if he tried to trade him this past offseason and get anything in return.

And the Tigers have brought 2-3-4 regulars (rookies) up too, like Clete Thomas, Rayburn, Sizemore, Austin Jackson, etc. Heck, they're winning with Adam Everett and Brandon Inge playing a lot, and both those guys are pretty sucky offensively.

You do realize Scherzer's been awful, correct?

Awful at bat by Becks, and Jones flys out deep to left. Beckham saw 6 straight fast balls.

It's absolutely frightening how infrequently he hits the ball hard. It's like he's this year's version of Rios with the Sox last season.

Sending Beckham down won't help us win games. He's old enough and mature enough to be in the majors. He has to ride it out up here and show what he's got. Team is going nowhere either way. Going down will not help him or the team. Playing Omar and Nix is no better.

Well, the window when Paulie Konerko was great trade bait has quickly closed.

No way you can move him anyway in mid-May, heck, we should have been 5-6 GB and right in it, now we're back where we started before the first game of the Twins' series, which is not good.

I don't f***ing care about this team winning games anymore this season. Beckham turning it around for the next few years is a lot more important than a futile attempt to win 75 games this season. He needs to go to AAA and hopefully start hitting the ball hard and gaining confidence in his swing. It's not happening at the major league level.

Right now I think Visquel gives us a better chance starting everyday at 2B, which is really sad to say

And we flip and flop our way into the bottom of the 8th. 1-2-3. Weak showing by our 2-3-4 hitters. Awful, just awful.

There's just too many really, really bad hitters on this team that I fully believe could hit .240 or less. At some point we need to accept this. Yeah, we may only be a fifth of the way through but these guys have shown no life. Even when it seems like they may be starting to figure it out, they fall right back into their old habits. It'll take a miracle, I think, for this team to not be 12+ back by the ASB.

I still say it won't help Beckham sending him down. What more can he do down there? You work on things and man up in the big leagues. Ride the storm out, baby.

Why the f*** would the White Sox send him down?? Ridiculous. He has the ability. Show it. Bat him ninth the rest of the year if you have to.

Oh wait, we already have 3-4 candidates for ninth. You'll probably get your wish though. I could see the Sox making yet another bad decision with personnel soon. I would not be shocked at all they send him down.
