I hope he was joking and just taking Shipps and my response to the extreme.

What happened was you clicked the link and your browser started jumping around the page. I thought "haha" the problem was that when I finally caught the browser and went to kill the webpage, it then rick rolls you every time you close the message. Which therefore made it impossible to close just that tab of the browser.

Thus forcing me to manually kill firefox.

I actually kind of like Darko. He's certainly nothing special, but he's a solid defensive center who played alright for us down the stretch. Considering our other big men are Jefferson and Love (and now Pekovic), none of whom are either big enough or good enough defensively to effectively play the 5, Darko is a decent enough option to have in the rotation. Of course, I guess I don't really know how good Pekovic is defensively. If he proves to be above average, then Darko is definitely a bit redundant.

Don't get me wrong, Darko probably isn't worth this much money, but I'm not sold that he's a complete waste of space.

My goodness... horrible deals being given out today. Gay, Milicic, Gooden, Salmons and when Joe Johnson accepts his, add him to the list.

Per basketball-reference.com, here’s a list of Centers in their mid-20s with similar PERs to Darko, who played at least 500 minutes last year, who are NOT on rookie contracts (Darko himself had a PER of 12.9 with the Wolves, but is not on this list because b-r.com considers him primarily a forward, not a Center.):

Krstic is on a 3yr, $15.8 mil contract.

Zaza is on a 4yr, $19 mil contract.

Biedrins is on a 6yr, $62 mil contract (!!!)

Ty is on a 6yr, $64 mil contract

Hollins is on a 3yr, $7 mil contract.

I'm not sold that Darko's deal is really that bad.

Apparently included in the Knicks presentation to LeBron was a study done by an "independent" research firm that said LeBron would make $1 billion over the rest of his career. While that is fairly reasonable, here is the part that seems abit... well... unusual. The study concluded LeBron would make $700 million in Cleveland, and only $650 million in Chicago. Yes, LeBron would make more in Cleveland than in Chicago according to this "study".

So, do the NYN actually think they can lie right to LeBron's face? You think LeBron hasnt done his own research on this?

Various tweets from Chris Reina (Executive Editor of RealGM)

  • The Interbrand study on LeBron's earning potential is interesting, but too many people I respect have discredited the validity to me.
  • The math of LeBron having a 50% chance of becoming a billionaire in New York, but just 1% in Chicago is extremely far-fetched.
  • Nobody doesn't believe LeBron will make the most money long-term in New York, but that report is an exaggeration on the difference.

Ya Derrick said before he was not gonna do twitter/facebook/etc.. (even if he wanted to, but was not into it) Alot of his close-net group tries to steer him away from stuff like that.

He could always have his brother do it for him...
