DBAHO
Well at least I won't have to hear much of Mo Williams and that Godfather Music going forward... That's a positive I guess.
Balta1701
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 09:40 PM) Me too...if I lived and died with the Bulls like we do with the Sox, I'd be devastated right now. Even in baseball, I can't fathom anything like this being set up. Right now, we have a couple dominant franchises...but they always have legitimate rivals. Yankees have fewer trophies since 2000 than the Red Sox. Other teams develop and get hot. Even when a team outspends everyone, they can only get a couple rings a decade. RockRaines
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 08:41 PM) You know what? There's a decent and interesting hockey team in Chicago isn't there. With much more likeable players than 99.9 percent of the NBA.
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 08:40 PM) What the hell did Gar and Pax do wrong here? They played their cards like everyone else. In doing so they created a top three team in the East. Lebron is a Yankees, Cowboys and was a huge Bulls fan in '91, '92,'93, '96, '97 and '98 despite being born and raised in Cleveland. He's the definition of a front-runner. He's got his rings. But they in the grand scheme of things they won't s***. Edited July 9, 2010 by Jordan4life

Steve9347
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 08:38 PM) Yeah, I'm amazed at how suddenly I'm so much less interested in the NBA. Anywho, please tell me Pax and Forman have already been fired. They wouldn't deserve to be fired. They put the best possible situation out there for LeBron, and he didn't give a s***. Miami's beaches stay warm in the winter.
Brian
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 08:40 PM) On a limb?! He f***ing guarandamnteed it! Put his rep and dignity he had left on the line. Lebron not only b****ed slapped himself and the NBA he took Steven to the back, raped him cold, and slit his throat. I will bury his name on my sig later. You will be missed Steven Harnden. The guy is a poster on a message board. Steve isn't some respected reporter who talks to GMs and has sources. Gimme a break.
fathom
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 02:42 AM) Frankly I'm glad baseball is such a team game that the best player changing teams isn't a totally do a die move. Although Pujols would never do something like LeBron just did. Haha, I was thinking that Pujols in STL is the closest thing there is to LeBron in Cleveland. Although Pujols would never do something like LeBron just did. Really? I could totally see Pujols winding up with a 10 year, $300 mil deal with the Yankees next offseason. I just wouldn't sit there and think "oh, it's over now!" when they signed him, because baseball doesn't work that way.
lostfan
I hope David Stern is happy now that all the superstars play in like 4 cities. Several million people just simultaneously lost interest in the NBA for at least 5 years.
WilliamTell
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 08:41 PM) LBJ did exactly what K Malone did back when he joined Shaq, Kobe and G Payton in hopes of winning a ring cept KM was old... punk move by LBJ. I think that's a bit different. Karl Malone played 18 years with one team and wasn't a top player in the league anymore like LeBron is. But I see your point though. Jenksismyhero
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 08:41 PM) And if it were up to me, it wouldn't be happening. Just because the guy made a foolish choice does not mean that this thread should denigrate into a cesspool of classless insults towards the guy and his family and friends. This is going to be a pretty classic thread here...people will probably actually go back and read it. Let's not ruin it by turning into classless sore losers. wow. jesus. over one post? tons of people in this thread "wasted" a good amount of time covering this story for the last couple of weeks. Let them vent. They're pissed and upset.

Steve9347
QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) You went out on a limb. No big deal. You gave Lebron more credit for being a man than you should of is all. I just can't believe he cares so little about his legacy. People were willing to compare him to the greats. No chance now. That's why you don't make your BFFs your advisors, bc they just want to lay on the beach.
Steve9347
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) This is the new future of basketball. The talent is no longer going to be spread, it's going to be concentrated.. Ever.
SoxAce
I actually really like Zoom's idea of trading for Rip Hamilton actually. No he's not the ideal 3 point sniper, but basically a 2 point version of Ray Allen who comes off screens and back screens and shoots at an efficient rate. Add defense to the equation and you got a good player to pair with Rose and sign a sniper for the bench that a team can't match his RFA rights (in other words.. overpay a bit) like Morrow or Redick. I think the Bulls should really look into this.
chw42
LeBron is trying to tell us how to build a team. Funny. Everything he says makes him out to be contradictory.

Balta1701
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 09:43 PM) They wouldn't deserve to be fired. They put the best possible situation out there for LeBron, and he didn't give a s***. Miami's beaches stay warm in the winter. Let's put it this way. They bet everything and lost. They gambled the last 2 years of their franchise and the next 3+ years of their franchise on being able to win one of the top 3 guys this offseason, and couldn't figure out that the top 3 guys had all decided 2 years ago at the olympics that they wanted to play together. They could have won more games the last few years if they hadn't been going for cap space, and decided to go for the cap space instead. For that decision, they got the rights to give a terrible contract to Carlos Boozer. If that's not a fireable offense, then I don't know what is. The team is better than it was last year. Exactly. How can you not like the Thibo hire? Or Boozer? Or going all in for the biggest free agency period ever? These guys want to win. And look at the East sans the Heat. They will.
