I don't buy that at all. There's not a damn thing Toronto could want back in a S&T from Cleveland. There would have to be some kinda investigation if that were to happen.

Other than Hickson, I'd agree with you there.

You're gonna listen to Ric Bucher?

Hell no, I'm just saying that it looks more and more that with Lebron looking like he'll stay with Cleveland, and Wade and Bosh going to Miami (with Chicago obviously the other possibility), Chicago could only end up with someone like Boozer, which is what he speculated.

I seriously think LeBron might stretch this out for another week or two (or more?) to stroke his own ego. He has an excuse to as well as long as Bosh is out there since his camp can leak out that he's still trying to convince Bosh to do a S&T to join him in Cleveland.

BOSH DOESN'T WANT TO PLAY IN CLEVELAND. This was confirmed by his agent. He isn't going to play with Lebron if it's in Cleveland

If Wade is going back to Miami, why hasn't he already signed there? What awkwardness could there be at a camp if the answer is "Yeah, I'm coming back to the Heat."

Same reason Lebron hasn't already signed with Cleveland

Leverage/Increasing publicity

I think he's waiting for Lebron and Bosh to figure it out first. If Lebron bolts for Chicago he's got two choices - join the 2nd coming of the Bulls dynasty or remain on a 7-8 seed playoff team. If Lebron stays, he's gotta make sure he can get Bosh to sign with the Heat or he's in the same boat. I think Bosh really likes the idea of going to Houston if he can't partner up with anyone else.

This was confirmed by his agent when they assumed there were going to be many side and trade opportunities. Right now, that doesn't appear to be the case though. If Bosh wants to go somewhere in a S&T, it's probably down to Houston and Cleveland (and maybe Dallas I guess?) Unless they can agree to something with Miami or the Bulls, but neither such scenario sounds likely right now. I guess it's all a fluid thing though.

What are they leveraging? They'll both get the maximum contract possible.

If it's publicity, then it's strange that they're both more or less staying behind closed doors.

kind of like with every free agent chase/big trade, i feel like the longer it goes on, the less likely it is to happen. If Wade/Bron declared saturday it was going to be Chicago, that was the time. The longer it waits, the less it feels like anything good will come out of this. And I second the thoughts that after so many teams were structuring their teams deals specifically for this '10 offseason, it's a huge blow to have nothing shakeup and just have another year of celts-lakers.

Guys. Seriously.

Everytime a new s*** report comes out there's a huge overreaction. "All signs" pointing means nothing... it's just something some idiot heard that makes him think someone is leaning one way or another.

It sucks, but we literally won't know a damn thing until wednesday night at the absolute earliest, but I bet we're waiting another weekend at least.

The fact that LeBron's eta keeps getting pushed back is only good for us. Do you know how EASY it would be for him to re-sign with Cleveland? More money, family, huge fanbase dependent on him. If he knew he was going back to Cleveland today we'd know already, trust me.

LeBron's not being a diva, as so many people are quick to point out. He's very much in the process of making the most difficult choice of his life. It's only difficult, by the way, because he WANTS to play for the Bulls.

Leveraging their GM to sign a sidekick for them to play with.

And it's not strange, Wade is filming a documentary on his free agency, and Lebron could be using all of this hype to further increase his image worldwide

The team that has to feel best about the way this is working out other than Boston and Los Angeles? The Oklahoma City Thunder. No superteam has been built, and the Celtics and Lakers are getting old. It could be their time in the near future.

I think the idea Wade is filming a documentary has been shot down btw. I thought only Bosh is actually doing that.

To be fair, Wade is filming this whole process as part of a documentary. If he strung the Bulls along for that reason, he is an all-time douche.

I'll admit I've wavered a bit on where Wade is going, initially I thought Chicago was a possibility but after thinking about it a bit, I've convinced myself that he's going back to the Heat

With that said, I've always felt Lebron is staying in Cleveland, you can find my posts in this thread stating that before all this twitter nonsense started :)

Um

Chris_Broussard

Raptors have told Cavs they would do a sign-and-trade with them for Bosh. Cavs and LeBron working to convince Bosh to join them in Cleveland

Is this official?

edit: if it is, it confirms that Bosh indeed doesn't want to go to Cleveland, and that Lebron definitely is staying there

This could very well mean we will get Wade.

If it's true, so be it.

The Raptors have been willing to do a S&T with Cleveland all along, I'm not sure where the idea they weren't came from. The key is that Bosh hasn't been willing to go to Cleveland, he'd rather play in a bigger market. But like I said, his options aren't quite as wide open as he thought, so maybe LeBron can convince him (although that's still certainly iffy). At this point, I hope he can and soon because Bosh to Cleveland gives us a great shot at getting Wade IMO.

Until this last week, I really didn't understand the main reason Lebron is likely to re-sign with Cleveland...

He's not an employee. He's an enterprise. He has a network of friends and family that are 'on his payroll'... If he pulls out of Cleveland, life changes for ALL of them. I haven't seen any signs that he's willing to pull the plug on that network. In fact, if anything, it seems recently like they have more power.

Add on top of that, that Cleveland can offer him a bigger contract than anyone else.

And a roster that should be able to go deep in the playoffs again.

And he's playing in his 'hometown'.

If he stays, he'll be loved forever.

If he leaves, they'll hate him like Thome.

Is there any reason he should leave?

It would have to be pretty freaking compelling.

Bottom line: he ain't going anywhere IMO.

A better chance to win a championship. But it seems more and more debateable by the day if that's LeBron main interest.

Exactly. If the Heat can't get Bosh, their best shot really is at Boozer. The Bulls could afford Boozer/Wade without having to do a S&T, and Boozer/Wade/Rose/Noah is way better than Boozer/Wade/skeleton roster.

If that's the case, the Bulls need to sign Boozer NOW.

You take away Miami's options and make Wade choose.
