With the rumor that Lebron is going to sign a 2 or 3 year deal and the difference between what Cleveland can give him in those 2 or 3 years is not $30 million but pretty slight relatively speaking, something like less than $5 million, what is the fewest amount of years a team can give these FAs to where they have the full advantage of re-signing them when the contract expires?

Couldn't JR give these guys max contracts with a 3 year out and a wink wink agreement he will give them the full boat then? Then they come out ahead.

So here's how I'm putting this together.

Lebron wants to stay in Cleveland, but he doesn't want to go back with the same roster. Cleveland doesn't have any money and few valuable trade pieces.

Bosh is certainly out of Toronto, but Toronto can't come to an agreement with CLE, CHI, or MIA. He's basically only attainable in a sign and trade.

Wade is essentially waiting on what Bosh and Lebron do. If Bosh or Lebron don't go to Miami, Wade is gone.

The Bulls are probably waiting on Lebron instead of going all out for the Bosh/Wade duo, They probably have a deal on the table moving Deng but won't pill the trigger before they get a commit.

Problem is the new CBA may drastically reduce salaries.

Lebron 3 year deal would have to be a 6 year deal with opt out.

That's the rumor but I really doubt they will go down much, not the way the owners continue throwing money around.

Not sure where the idea Tor won't S&T w/Mia came from, but it's not true. Calderon/Bosh for Chalmers, 2 future 1sts + trade exception: done. less than a minute ago via web

The Bulls can offer something better...

The problem is that if the Bulls sign and trade for Bosh, and then want to bring in Wade... that Wade would have to come in at less years and money... unless we do a sign and trade for him too... which Miami will not do.

So... basically if Miami can execute a sign and trade for Bosh, both he and Wade can be 'happy' with max deals.

So, it's beginning to look like we could get aced out.

@Ryan_Jody is the trade a done deal? Not done. If it was, I'd be writing it for espn.com. I was giving an example of what Tor wd/cd do.

Bucher posted this, btw.

He's an idiot, and no, it's not a done deal.
