You're not winning an NBA championship with Carlos Boozer as your 2nd best player and making either near max or max money.

The trio of Deron, Boozer, and Mehmet Okur were winning 50+ games a year in the West. Rose, Boozer, and Noah won't be a contender in the East?

So we didnt sell Dwayne Wade on how great a city Chicago is?

No, we didn't sell him on Chicago being a better place to play with Chris Bosh than Miami. Or we didn't see Chris Bosh on that idea, depends on what order that came in I suppose.

Let alone Deng is still capable of solid defense and 17/8 despite his woeful contract, Taj Gibson and Omer Asik would make for great depth on the front line, and we have the cash to add a gunner and more.

Derrick Rose, Carlos Boozer, and Joakim Noah isn't winning any NBA titles. I'm not sure how you can say they will.

Byron Scott sucks.

The Bulls could easily compete with the top east teams if they can get Boozer and another shooter like Allen. They're a year older and more experienced and they can hang with the Cavs/Celtics (especially w/o Allen) and Magic. Miami worries me only if they get Lebron. But Wade and Bosh aren't enough to be the clear favorite.

The east will have 4-5 good teams next year - Boston, Chicago, Orlando, Miami and wherever Lebron goes.

And IMO anyone who thinks the Bulls suck because they failed to get the top 3 is just being unrealistic. This isn't baseball. They can't offer more money. It's completely up to the players to decide who they want to play with and in what city they'd like to play in. The bulls can't really change the fact that they're based in Chicago and they clearly have the best existing roster. These arguments are dumb.

Funny asshole

I've said for a while that Chris Bosh is a total piece of s***. He's despised by the GT community, as he's basically the only guy out of the numerous pros they've had that acts too big to come back to Atlanta and help out, etc.

How did they fail then? Did they make a mistake? Did they not trade to get max contracts? Everyone who loses here is a complete failure? The Heat and the Cavs if Bron goes there are the only front offices than deserve to keep their jobs?

There was nothing the Bulls could have done to get any of the big 3. They did everything they could.

Yes, but they didnt tie up the guys in the basement and torture them until they agreed. Because of that, they are failures.

It's not that they deserve to be canned because they didn't get anyone (I'm not saying to fire them.). It's that this was this regime's defining moment. I have no issue in letting them try to regroup and move forward, but if they can't turn around this franchise in a couple years, they all should be replaced. They put all their eggs into this basket, and it backfired. That's the failed part. We gave up our 1st rd pick this year which is now completely wasted. Regroup fast or get out.

You guys realize Wade was never leaving Miami right? Quite the fools errand for Bulls brass to sway his decision when he had no intentions on leaving. We know Bosh is a little fruitcake piggy backing the big 2 and was going to end up with one of them. That basically leaves us with LeBron (who hasnt announced where he is going) to lure into Chicago. One of the most sought after free agents in sports history and were still in the running to get him and I still contest he is an idiot if he doesnt come here considering the situation he would be walking into. What a fail.

At this point, I'm more interested in hearing the apparently glaring argument that the Bulls can acquire Carlos Boozer and Mike Miller or J.J. Redick (Allen isn't coming here) and be good enough to win an NBA Title than hearing defenses of how awesome a job the Bulls did missing on the top 3 free agents.

I will say that I agree it still makes the most sense that LeBron come here of every situation out there. If he stays in Cleveland and takes the extra 30 million that's one thing. But if he goes somewhere else and it's not the Bulls? Good luck defending that.

At this point, I'll be fine with winning in the first round of the playoffs and a chance at the eastern conference finals.

Really? I would rather them be one of the worst teams in the NBA than get stuck in that cycle.

Nobody is saying that is good enough to win a title. I didnt know winning championships was easy and to be expected. I guess we should blow the team up with our 2 rising stars and call it a decade because Chris Bosh didnt sign with the Bulls.

Well if he wants to win titles than you can easily defend him signing with the Heat, but between the Cavs, Knicks, Bulls and Nets I agree with you.

No, you keep the two rising stars and hope you get lucky. It's not a great plan, but it's all you have now.

but with the cap and how the NBA is structured you're want to be good enough to compete for an NBA title or terrible, being stuck in the middle is brutal and probably in all 4 major sports the hardest to pull yourself out of.

Ahh yeah that's true. I guess I keep ignoring that because I just can't believe it'll happen.

right and until we start hearing rumors from a 2nd team of a S & T that is all but done, I don't think it really can happen.

Exactly, the NBA is the only sport where being in the middle is a disaster. You can build yourself up in the other sports if you're an average ish team, but in the NBA it just means you're absolutely screwed.

Problem with the 3 of them going to the Heat is that they would have no money left. It would be the 3 of them and 9 other guys on minimum contracts. 2 superstars, one all star and a bunch of D-leaguers. One injury and that team goes to crap. Everyone was arguing that it was always Lebron on 5 in Cleveland, well, it potentially is Lebron and Wade (or Bosh) on 5, which is nearly as bad. These guys aren't THAT good, especially against teams with other all star calibar players.

IMO Lebron/Rose/Noah/Boozer/Deng + bench is nearly as good as Lebron/Wade/Bosh/nobody/nobody and a nobody bench.

Watching any sport is supposed to be entertainment. So you're saying if the Sox couldn't win a championship, but kept on getting to the ALDS or maybe the ALCS once or twice, you'd rather be the worst team in baseball instead of that?
