Balta1701
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 05:48 PM) KCJHoop K.C Johnson According to source, #Bulls just pulled Keith Bogans off the practice floor. Story soon at chicagotribune.com. Yeah.... we're not picking up your $1.7 million option, bro. Zero reason not to pick up his option, right? Don't need roster spot, he is an expiring deal, and the money doesn't cut into the MLE.

With 150% able to come back, they have about $10 mill before the luxury tax kicks in.... the numbers would be close if we keep Deng. OR MORE LIKELY something at league offices wasn't signed yet and they didn't want to risk anything.

Steve9347
link With the Bulls exploring other shooting guard options, management is being careful and preventing Bogans from sustaining an injury.
Steve9347
Rip Hamilton has been waived. I don't want, but I will probably get. I still have dreams of Dwight or, at worst, J-Rich.

Oh really...?
chw42
I wouldn't mind Crawford playing 25 min a game off the bench as the 6th man if the Bulls are getting him. JRich would be more of a 30-36 min full-time guy since he can actually play some defense. I think right now, he is the most ideal FA for the Bulls, but he might be out of our price range. I definitely would not mind starting Brewer and giving him 20 min a game as a SG/SF and having Crawford come off the bench as a 25 min player. It would lessen the minutes load on Deng (he shouldn't be playing 40 min a game, more like 34-36). Korver's role would also be reduced, which wouldn't be a bad thing. So basically, you have a 4 man rotation at SF/SG with Deng: 36 min at SF Crawford: 25 min at SG Brewer: 20 min (8 at SG, 12 at SF) Korver: 15 min at SG The defense will take a slight hit, but I think the offensive production will outweigh that. DBAHO
QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 09:41 AM) Thaddeus Young 5 for 42 to sixers. I think that's fair'nuff. Wished we tried to go after him on that deal except for signing Big Baby @ 26/4 in a S&T deal with Brandon Bass. But apparently Davis was one of the guys Howard demanded Otis Smith sign this off-season to have any chance of keeping him, so that's what they've done. Before you know it, Monta Ellis or Josh Smith will be on our roster just to appease Dwight also.

DBAHO
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 11:23 AM) ...and he'll still leave #lebron Unlike Lebron, Dwight actually has some class on that regard. He actually wants to stay in Orlando, but only if they'll surround him with the right talent to win a championship, which they haven't done so obviously. And because of the cap issues, it's not likely they'll be able get him that other star player.
Dick Allen
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 07:47 AM) MLB has done exactly this many times before, without owning a team. Go back and research when the Oakland A's literally tried to sell of their world series teams in the 70's. Many thought the reason those particular deals were cancelled was something personal between Kuhn and Finley. IIRC the last time the commissioner blocked a trade or major league signing which didn't involve illegal contact or something like that with a foreign player was 1990, when the White Sox were denied adding Minnie Minoso to the roster. The league owning a team is so wrong in so many ways IMO. Edited December 10, 2011 by Dick Allen

My guess would be for Ellis, something around Jason Richardson plus the Magic offering a couple of other pieces in a sign and trade deal (whether that's actually possible, I'm not sure, but it's the only thing I can think of cap wise). I could also see them trading Jameer Nelson, but they'd have to get a PG back in a deal (maybe they go after Billups, but he's more likely to sign in Miami I would have thought). I'd imagine they'd want to keep Jameer so they have someone that can distribute the ball. Atlanta would probably be more interested in him than Golden State (Curry). The Warriors could also sign Richardson out-right if they want him. Also, wouldn't they still be over the cap? That'd mean they wouldn't get a shot at Billups until after he clears waivers (well, not exactly waivers, that amnesty-waivers type system). I'd say it's a longshot given Smith's recent history with deals and their relative lack of assets. He could really use Gortat right about now, though he wouldn't have had that opportunity in Orlando. Maybe they could swing Nelson off in a seperate deal? To me, it doesn't make much sense for GS to sign Richardson, while they still have Curry and Ellis, they'd need to deal at least one of them. The Magic also have a 6.3M trade exception they can use from the Gortat to PHX deal.
Steve9347
Let's take it down a notch. Golden State's key to a big man would never revolve around flipping Jameer Nelson. Jameer has so little trade value.
