Rowand44
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 11:42 AM) If 2nd fiddle means being the most important cog then I agree. Nothing against Rose. But there's guys out there that can do what he does. There's nobody out there that can do what Dwight does. He'd be 2nd fiddle to Derrick in this city, whether he'd be the most important cog on the team, well that's definitely up for debate but there's no question that he'd be the 2nd "star" on his own team and that might be the reason he doesn't want to be here, who knows. Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 02:13 PM) Judging from his comments, Chauncey's almost undoubtedly going to the Heat. He wants no part of being claimed and he's letting it be known. That'd be just wonderful. C: Anthony/? PF: Bosh/Haslem SF: LeBron/Battier SG: Wade/Miller PG: Billups/Chalmers Obviously C still sucks. And Miller might be gone. But they're deeper and better. But RIP is on the way. If you mean it's Rose's city in the way it was Wade's city and that any superstar that comes in by default becomes the "2nd" star, I guess I can agree with that definition. He wants no part of being claimed and he's letting it be known. I don't know if it's the lockout, the stars still teaming up, or the heat being loaded, but i'm about 1/3 as excited right now about the NBA as I was last year. Last year was just anger, this move last year would have pissed me off. Now I'm just meh.
Rowand44
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) If you mean it's Rose's city in the way it was Wade's city and that any superstar that comes in by default becomes the "2nd" star, I guess I can agree with that definition. The Bulls would still be considered Rose's team by the media, Derrick would still be getting more endorsement deals and he'd still be seen as the face of the franchise, stuff like that could absolutely matter to a guy like Dwight who seems to like to be the life of the party. Quin
Dwight's not even close to a top 10 ten center all time.

Oh, I totally agree with you there. Little guys have always been easier to sell than big guys. Shaq was an exception. 2nd fiddle to me has always meant, like, the clear-cut second best player on a team. Like Pippen, Kobe (when Shaq was there) or even a Pau Gasol. That's what I was arguing. Jordan4life_2007
lol. Sounds like the Rockets want the Lakers to get Paul more than the Lakers want to get Paul.

JorgeFabregas
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 05:06 PM) Just shut the league down when CP3 and Dwight wind up on LA. The restructured deal leaves Odom as a chip for Dwight. Not that a rebuilding Orlando team would want him, but he could be useful in a three team deal. JorgeFabregas
It's hard to get good value when your superstar demands a trade.

JorgeFabregas
That's why Odom would go to a third team. The Nets probably have the best pieces* and that's where he wants to go. That's apparently where he'll end up unless tampering charges come into play. *Even though the rumored package is meeeeehhh.
DBAHO
And we just signed Big Baby to be our next center! Hooray! Not a good day to be a Magic fan, and the city of Orlando would be hurting right now, it's Deja Vu with the Shaq situation again. Certain people don't rate Dwight at a superstar because he can't shoot FT's, and his offensive game isn't as polished as Shaq's. But last season he began to shoot Timmy D's bank shot with quite a bit of success, and you watch the Nets instantly turn into a top 5 defensive team in the NBA now just because of Howard. Lopez + 2 picks for Howard and Hedo is probably going to be the deal. Whether we have enough cap room to sign a max free agent next off-season now such as Kevin Love, I'm not sure, but if the Big Baby deal means we don't, I'll be very, very annoyed. DBAHO
J-Rich is off the market now also, 25/4 with Orlando. This just confuses me even more, I guess Otis thinks we can still contend even without Dwight somehow.
