NBA Offseason Thread

This is all so strange. The Clippers offer the deal with Eric Gordon, and the league rejects, asking for Eric Bledsoe. This is even more fishy than one would have imagined. Apparently, the league is a-ok with a monster team being built as long as they haven't been monsters before...

Eric Gordon isn't included in a revised Clippers-New Orleans deal for Chris Paul, league source tells Y! Sports.

Now they're saying Gordon is back on it and they submitted the report.. weird. If the Hornets get Gordon, that is a great trade for them.

EDIT: Wojnarowski is stating that Gordon is included in the deal and Broussard is stating that he isn't. We'll see very soon.

Wow... CP3 going to the Clippers. Deal is close. Eric Gordon isn't involved like in an earlier report(s).

T-Wolves unprotected pick also going to Clippers. What a steal if it happens.

CP3-Gordon-Blake (I'll also shoutout DeAndre Jordan) Unreal.

Way better package than the Lakers deal

Per a source who has been briefed on NO-LAC negotiations, the Hornets have to choose between the Minnesota pick and Gordon. Can't have both.

Gee, let me think on that one.

Is that pick non-protected?

GM Gar Forman said that the Bulls are working with Derrick Rose's agents to finalize a five-year, $94 million extension.

This is a formality, as the team has has already called it a "top priority" to accomplish. Rose has already stated that he has no interest in signing elsewhere, and this should be done rather quickly. Similarly to Kevin Durant, Rose has no interest in wasting the team's time in contract talks and wants to remain with the club long-term.

Love this kid.

Love is the perfect word. Great kid.

Steve,

This is exactly what the Hornets should have been doing, trying to squeeze every ounce out of teams that want to trade. At the end of the day the Hornets can always say, okay we will take only 1 of the 2, but why not hold out for both as long as you can?

We will see. If they don't get a deal done with the Clippers, given it's a great trade for them no matter which version/package they get back, then we have a problem.

I see. Well then it's not nearly a slam dunk as just going with Gordon. I like Gordon. But next summer's draft is deep. And the Wolves figure to suck again.

Yeah, the only issue is Eric Gordon is an RFA next season, so the cost certainty goes out the window. Either way, they can't lose, so the NBA really, really needs to get this deal done.

So they would've received Gordon and the pick, correct? I'm asking because I thought that's what I heard on the radio just now.

The way it's worded in the ESPN report on it is that the sticking point is that they're demanding both Gordon and the pick, not Bledsoe. They make it sound like the Clippers are offering Bledsoe, Aminu, Kaman and either the pick or Gordon.
