Chisoxfn
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:12 AM) It sounds like he's on the ground in Chicago leaving the airport right now. Ya, but he's in Chicago for the Nike Basketball camp. There are a lot of other guys coming to Chicago for this weekend too. Is he actually headed to meet with the Bulls today? iamshack
By the way, that replica Bulls LeBron jersey is no longer listed at the Bulls store.
Soxbadger
Yeah I can see the Bulls saying: "Let pass on Bosh/Lebron because wed have to trade Noah" Seriously? If the Bulls can get Bosh/Lebron and still have Rose, you find some one to stand in the middle of the paint like a statue. I mean the Bulls won 6 championships with a variety of different big men. Anyways the statement was: The Bulls cant afford 2 max contracts. That is wrong, they can afford it.
Jenksismyhero
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 01:15 PM) They do not presently. They would need to move Deng. I'm assuming that the rumors of Toronto not wanting Deng are true. I guess that's just speculation though.

Yea, he'll be meeting with other teams. My question is, do we know he's actually meeting with the Bulls today? Cause the article on the trib site, from KC, says that the Bulls are working on scheduling a meeting with Bosh for TOMORROW. And that they are working on it. Didn't sound like it was a done deal, but maybe that article is old news?
Chisoxfn
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:20 AM) I think Sacramento would take him though. If Memphis loses Gay, they might have an interest in Deng.
whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 12:26 PM) Oh my, Bucks reportedly close to re-signing Salmons for 5 yr, 39 million per David Aldridge. I hope they enjoy the "not playing for money" version of John Salmons. He'll help them, but 5/39? Good luck with that. The NBA just continues on with bad contracts. And 20 million for Darko, wtf? How long must he prove he's just a tall guy that's not any good before people stop giving him gobs of cash?

whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) 5 millions a year for a 7 footer who can rebound, defend and block shots at the age of 25? It could be a LOT worse. His contract in relationship to many of the typical "so awful the GM must be trying to lose" contracts? Not bad. His contract in general? Still not good. He averaged 6 and a half points, 4 and half rebounds, and a block a game in 21 minutes last year. I know that means his per 48 numbers are pretty good, but there's a reason he's never averaged above 24 minutes a game. Although I will admit, there always has and always will be a bias to make fun of the "human victory cigar" because of where he went in the draft. iamshack
We need to convince Bosh to just tell the Raptors to take Deng in a sign and trade or get nothing in return. Then hope they say fine, we'll take nothing. Edited July 1, 2010 by iamshack
HeGone33
QUOTE (sircaffey @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 12:28 PM) Nobody ever really mentions the 23 to 6 number change for LBJ. Given that you're required to give the league one year notice, that's awfully coincidental. I believe LeBron is coming to the Chicago, however Miami does have the number 23 retired as well, so I don't take much stock in the whole number change thing. And again...the NBA wonders why its in financial trouble. Anyway, if another team out there is looking for a SF (Clippers) now their options are Lebron or an Anthony or Deng trade, which isn't a bad thing for the Bulls. Paul Pierce is out there too but I don't think he's leaving Boston.

whitesoxfan101
The NBA doesn't need a cap on the maximum deal a player can get as much as it needs a cap on how much you can overpay bad, average, and even decent to pretty good players.

Yup. It's not giving LBJ $25 million a year that kills your franchise. It's giving Gay $16 million. Deng $11 million. Hinrich $10 million. Carter however much he's getting.
