Quin
So, does Okur start at center with Noah at power forward? This is insanity.
SoxFan562004
QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 06:27 PM) What will the Bulls have lost? Hinrich's bad contract and maybe Deng's bad contract as well? Not much to lose. I agree 100%, the team as is wasn't going anywhere, so burn it all down and if it fails, being 10-72 might put you in a better position, certainly won't be worse. Not much to lose. Depending on where they all go, if the Bulls don't land anyone, they won't be contenders for a while.
SoxFan562004
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 06:29 PM) Depending on where they all go, if the Bulls don't land anyone, they won't be contenders for a while. if they would have kept the status quo they really wouldn't have been contenders anyway, sure 6-8 seed getting bounced every year, maybe a fluke upset of a 2 or a 3 but that was the ceiling
knightni
You won't suck with Rose, Noah, Johnson, Gibson, and a few average free agents. You just won't win 50 games.
whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 06:29 PM) Depending on where they all go, if the Bulls don't land anyone, they won't be contenders for a while. They weren't going to be contenders anytime soon if they stuck with what they had. They were stuck in NBA hell, a .500 team with mid 1st round picks. Not a good place to be. lostfan
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 07:29 PM) Depending on where they all go, if the Bulls don't land anyone, they won't be contenders for a while. They weren't really all that as constructed either. Ceiling as maybe a 4th seed.
iamshack
They're definitely going to get someone. At worst, they'll get Boozer and Lee or something...that's still better than the team they ripped apart was...

iamshack
This article by far seems to have the most information of anything I have read... Wojo's Yahoo Article The Bulls are trying to line up a commitment from Wade prior to their formal presentation with James in Cleveland on Saturday, sources said. Chicago has a strong nucleus of young players, including Derrick Rose(notes) and Joakim Noah(notes), who with Wade and James would instantly turn the Bulls into a championship contender. Without Wade leaving Miami to join James elsewhere, league sources believe that the two players are most likely to re-sign with their respective teams, Miami and Cleveland. Still, Wade and free agent forward Chris Bosh(notes) are closely connected and even without James, Wade is considering a Chicago partnership with Bosh. With 29.9 million in cap space, Chicago could give two different players a five year, $87.6 million contract.

sircaffey
Isn't David Lee horrendous defensively? I believe someone on ESPN said he was the worst defensive player in this FA crop.
Chisoxfn
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 04:34 PM) Did Wade meet with the Bulls already tonight, or is it still to come? Meeting is over, they met for about an hour and 15 minutes. Meeting ended about 20 minutes ago I think. I'm hoping the Bulls have a committ from one of Wade/Bosh by the end of the night.
